Legal, Compliance & Audit

Bridgestone Americas is looking for a contract manager to support our Mobility Solutions (BMS) and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) groups. In this role you will provide legal support to our Emerging Businesses units, and help provide transactional legal services and legal/business advice and strategy to all of the divisions of BMS and to the Enterprise Strategy Office. The role will be based at our Nashville, TN headquarters working a hybrid schedule.

• Serve as a first point of contact for the Sustainability, BMS and M&A groups, helping to resolve and/or escalate legal issues as needed.
• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of non-standardized statements of work (SOW) and standard company agreements, such as: professional services agreements, vendor-facing contracts, nondisclosure agreements, sales agreements, etc.
• Interpret contract terms and conditions, and advise clients on contract obligations, remedies, and solutions.
• Evaluate, and consult on, the needs and goals of clients with respect to a variety of issues, helping to identify risk and prepare practical and creative solutions for achieving goals while minimizing risk.
• Maintain form libraries for supported legal department groups. 
• Maintain a large and fluctuating number of matters/projects. 

• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
• Prior experience in analyzing drafting, reviewing, negotiating and maintaining contracts.
• Prior experience in some type of legal software.
• Prior experience in M&A and NDA’s.

Finance

We’re currently looking for an IT Internal Controls Lead to work collaboratively with IT, Finance, and various Audit entities to evaluate risk and related internal controls.

This position will oversee and serve as the primary contact and resource for teammates within various Divisions and Corporate functions who are responsible for IT control related activities and will provide ongoing support and guidance. This role will be responsible for supporting the IT JSOX Controls remotely.

• Support the JSOX IT general control (ITGC) framework and related activities.

• Confirm that ITGC’s and JSOX control frameworks are organized, maintained, and measured across the Corporate IT environment.

• Provide insight regarding financial risk, Application and IT Controls, and their relationship with IT systems.

• Interact with and support Financial/IT Audit engagements.

• Interface with IT stakeholders and service providers to validate that adequate short-term mitigations and long-term sustainable remediations for open findings are in place for any control deficiencies.

• Experience in access role architecture design or in providing advisory/auditing services over ERP access roles.

• Understanding of business process risk and related controls. 

• Experience in mitigating risks associated with Segregation of Duties issues both systematically through role and access changes as well as manually to address that systemic access was not exploited.

• Prepare reports/presentations on the status of the compliance process for stakeholders including, but not limited to process owners, senior management, executive management, and Audit Committee.

• Bachelor and / or master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Information Technology or Information Security

• CPA is preferred.

• 4+ years of experience working with or auditing IT General Controls in a SOX or JSOX compliant entity.

• Experience working with large-scale ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle

• GRC Access Control is preferred but not required.

• Big 4 public accounting experience with Fortune 500 clients is preferred.

• Relevant industry certifications (e.g.  CISA, CRISC, ITIL, etc) is preferred

Legal, Compliance & Audit

The Lead, Legal Claims position reports directly to Assistant General Counsel- Litigation and works in a team approach with members of the litigation group to manage a docket of litigation and pre-suit claims involving the company in the United States and Canada. This role will be based in Nashville, working a hybrid schedule.

• Investigate and negotiate directly with claimants to resolve pre-litigation personal injury claims.
• Maintaining and updating individual case status and records.
• Research and collect information to respond to interrogatories, requests for admission, requests for production of documents, and third-party subpoenas.
• Coordinating inspections and depositions.
• Reviewing and summarizing medical records.
• Assisting in-house and outside counsel in all aspects of management of litigation.

• Bachelors degree, paralegal certificate and/or 5+ years of relevant experience as a paralegal and/or claims adjuster.
• Prior experience with independently investigating, negotiating, and resolving pre-suit claims.
• Previous experience in multi-state claims handling.
• Availability to travel as needed (less than 10%)
• Knowledge of claims handling systems

Coordinates and implements a company-wide occupational/ industrial hygiene monitoring program and provides technical support. Responsibilities include: developing IH sampling plans for sites, and managing the sampling activities; evaluating exposure results, determining risks, and supporting sites with determining the control of occupational health hazards where needed. Foundational knowledge of hazards associated with chemicals, noise, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, Legionella, molds, indoor air quality, and workplace design (ergonomics), including the recognition, evaluation and monitoring of the environmental factors that may impair the health of employees or the efficiency of work operations. Develops and recommends corrective action to eliminate, control or reduce occupational health problems. Must be knowledgeable about government regulations. Participates in site EH&S audits.

We’re currently looking for an Internal Controls Senior Analyst to join our remote/hybrid team. This role will be responsible for supporting activity regarding financial risk and related mitigating controls for Bridgestone Americas (BSAM). The Internal Controls Senior Analyst will report directly to the Internal Controls Manager and support the BSAM Internal Controls Framework with emphasis on the retail business. The role assists in the maintenance of risk and control documentation and related coordination with management, Internal Audit and the Company’s external auditors.

The Security Awareness Coordinator will drive corporate security excellence at Bridgestone Americas by empowering Teammates with robust and engaging educational materials.

In this role you will work with functional program owners to develop both active training sessions and passive resources to educate stakeholders and teammates on a variety of security topics, as well as their roles and responsibilities in building an enterprise-wide security culture.

• Collaborate with Corporate Security functional programs (Event Risk Management, Travel Risk Management, Executive Protection, Threat Management, Physical Security, Enterprise Risk Management, Business Continuity) to create relevant training material for program stakeholders and all Teammates

• Create training and awareness content using a variety of mediums, including the Company intranet, PowerPoint slides & presentations, Yammer posts, bulletins, and e-learning modules

• Drive initiatives to develop e-learning modules to be delivered through the Company learning platform, including a comprehensive new Teammate security orientation

• Build a new cross-functional and business unit Corporate Security program to drive a Company-wide security culture.

The Senior Financial Analyst focuses on short and long-term financial planning and financial analysis of functional operations for the purpose of measuring and forecasting performance. The role involves data gathering, modeling building and maintenance as well as coordination across various stakeholders; requiring strong focus on accuracy, continuous improvement and high-quality results.

• Partners with FP&A Team to provide financial reporting and analysis

• Participate in the development of the financial inventory and capital plans as well as forecasts

• Leads monthly closing process for functional areas of responsibility

• Build financial models that provide insight into strategic initiatives and operational and financial trends

• Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operations performance analysis

Tax Interns typically:

• Sit under immediate direction and guidance of a Bridgestone Income Tax Manager providing day to day assistance on various tax projects.
• Participate in the preparation of federal, state, and international tax filings including but not limited to: determining estimated payments, reconciling trial balance, analyzing fixed assets, interacting with finance teammates to gather tax information,  compiling US Federal 1120s, gathering information for international IRS Form 5471 and 5742s, and collecting state apportionment information.
• Assist with Canadian tax return preparation.

Finance

The Workers Compensation Claims Analyst, is responsible for life of claim management & administration. This person will be instrumental in negotiating and managing claims, analyzing claims data and collaborating with our Third-Party Administrator (TPA), Safety, and Operations to reduce costs and financial exposure, manage liabilities and ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies within agreed authority limits. This position will be focused on Worker’s Compensation Claims Operations.

*** Hybrid Schedule 1-3 days a week in office (Nashville, TN) ***

• Review and document all worker’s compensation claims data, investigating cause of reported claims, and supporting the determination of compensability of all accidents/injuries.

• Perform claim audits and analysis to determine trends in worker’s compensation claims.

• Closely manage all in-house claims and collaborate with our Third-Party Administrator and other vendors.

• Collaborate with company personnel to promote and facilitate temporary alternative duty (TAD) program.

• Communicate effectively with teammates, internal customers, clients, outside counsel, and management.

• Analyze, develop, and provide comprehensive reports to management identifying trends with recommendations strategy

• Actively manage litigation process

• Provide direction on claims dispositions, negotiations, reserve adequacy, and subrogation

• Ensure reserve accuracy and action plans are defined.

• Supervise utilization of the Worker’s Compensation Managed Care networks, identifying deficiency and corrective action

• Provide direction on claims dispositions, negotiations, reserve adequacy and subrogation

• Communicate with TPA as they set claim reserves.

• Ensure an accurate diagnosis, prognosis, & medical plan of treatment.

• Evaluate the need for and authorize independent medical examinations.

• Direct claims adjusters in the selection and utilization of Field Case Nurses.

• Establish and maintain relationship with Operations, Safety, HR, and Legal

• Ensure compliance with ADA regulations.

• Suggest best practice improvements for internal processes.

• Manage special projects in support of Bridgestone as assigned.

REQUIRED:

• Bachelor Degree required preferably in Risk Management, Insurance or a related field of study.

• 4+ years full-time claims management experience with Retail/Manufacturing experience. 

• Strong technical claims knowledge

Bridgestone, a global leader in the tire and rubber industry, is seeking a talented and qualified antitrust lawyer to join its Bridgestone West Ethics and Compliance team. As the Assistant General Counsel for Antitrust and Corporate Compliance, you will play a pivotal role in offering legal counsel on antitrust matters, conducting risk assessments, crafting training materials, and supporting various facets of the ethics and compliance program. This role, situated in the United States, reports to the Head of Ethics and Compliance for Europe Middle East & Africa (EMEA) / Head of Antitrust for Bridgestone West. • Provide practical and informed legal advice and counsel to Bridgestone's business units and lawyers in the Americas on antitrust matters, including transactions, trade association involvement and competitive intelligence.

Legal, Compliance & Audit

Under the general supervision of the Credit First National Association (“CFNA”) Audit Committee and reporting to Bridgestone Internal Audit, the Director of Internal Audit will lead the third line of defense (3LOD) function performing operational, credit, financial, information technology general controls, information security, cybersecurity, third party management and/or compliance audits. This role is tasked with the development of a risk-based audit plan with consideration to applicable federal and state laws and regulations, bank policies and procedures, safeguarding of assets, efficient operations, and risk management. In accordance with the approved plan, and by acting in an independent but consultative manner, perform detailed operational, compliance, financial, and investigative audits of bank operations; evaluate audit findings and prepare/present the results and recommendations to the Audit Committee and executive management.

• Demonstrate competency surrounding key regulations regarding consumer and small business lending and credit card operations including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (“BSA/AML”), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (“ECOA”), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (“GLBA”), Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (“FDCPA”), Fair Lending, and Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts and Practices (“UDAAP”).  Additionally, CFNA and its parent company, Bridgestone Americas, have regulatory compliance with the Japanese Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (JSOX).

Information Technology

The System Engineer will deliver technical advisory services, documentation, and governance across Bridgestone to mature and innovate our capabilities. The position will develop and lead the process of building and translating technical business requirements into durable and efficient solutions. The candidate should possess strong business acumen, sound operational experience, and an understanding of risk management.

• Provide guidance and advocacy across Bridgestone with IT leadership, and other business stakeholders to prioritize requirements and design tactical and strategic technology solutions.
• Create and maintain roadmaps for their space in alignment with business and IT objectives.
• Create documentation to reference other vendors and global initiatives.
• Research, design, and integrate new solutions, determining scope and impact in diverse and complex environments.
• Validate and certify current and future state products/services and assess potential impact across all enterprise systems.
• Identify use cases for technical capabilities, lead and conduct hands-on evaluations and develop value propositions for new products and services.
• Work closely with leadership and other groups to define the strategic direction of the business and promote resilient product/service engineering.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of next-gen designs, and digital trends and threats.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with management, peers, product owner, and internal stakeholders.
• Build and maintain up-to-date and clear documentation of current infrastructure, and system process flows.
• Provide strong leadership and direction to team members and mentors other teammates.

Qualifications:

• At least five years' experience with the Microsoft development stack.
• Experience working in Enterprise Cloud Solutions (AWS / Azure)
• Experience modeling and design reviews and assessing requirements for the introduction of one or more of the above listed technologies.
• Industry experience representing technical viewpoints to diverse audiences and making timely and prudent technical security decisions.
• Industry experience working across cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction; self-starter/self-motivated

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
