Are you passionate about food and want to make a difference in your community?
Join us at the Quiet Company as a Training & Development Chef, where you'll have a unique opportunity to transform lives while pursuing your culinary passion.
At the Quiet Company, we believe in the power of second chances. We have partnered with London OPD Pathways Partnership (LPP), NHS OXLEAS, and Inclusion & Involvement (I&I) to deliver a collaborative development program for ex-offenders. Our mission is to provide them with the skills they need to succeed in the culinary world, focusing on baking, salad and cold food preparation, and Barista training. Our programs, 'Bake the Difference' and 'Tasting the Difference,' not only equip participants with recognised qualifications but also empower them to make positive changes in their lives.
What We Offer:
• As a Training & Development Chef, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our participants. You'll be responsible for overseeing the 'Bake the Difference' program, providing direct supervision, ensuring safety, and planning menu cycles.
• Your commitment to safeguarding and mentoring will make a significant impact on the lives of those you train.
• You will be an integral part of our kitchen brigade, working under the guidance of our experienced kitchen and service delivery management.
• You'll contribute to the daily food production and preparation operations within Friends House, gaining invaluable real-world experience.
The role is flexible, with a split between two cohort training days (usually Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and three days supporting the kitchen food production operation. We work together to ensure our business needs are met while accommodating the cohorts’ schedule.
If you're ready to make a positive impact on the lives of others while pursuing your culinary dreams, join the Quiet Company as a Training & Development Chef. Together, we'll bake a brighter future for our community. Apply today and be part of something truly special. Your culinary skills can change lives!
You will work full-time, 5 days from 7, including evening and weekend working. You will need to be flexible with the days and times you are able to work. Working hours are typically between 7.00am and 10.00pm. You will be working on a rota system, with shifts varying on a weekly basis.
We offer an exceptional pension scheme and a substantial holiday allowance. Our terms of employment are among the very best in the industry, with personal development, learning and well-being programmes.
Only candidates eligible to work in the UK will be considered for the position.
