Meridian Business Support are working in partnership with their reputable client on a Logistics and Planning Co-ordinator position based in their Bellshill location. This is temp to perm position with permanent job offer after successful period of 12 weeks time.
As a Logistics and Planning Co-ordinator you will be responsible for production planning, raw material and packaging ordering and some logistics. This role is critical to the smooth operation of the business. The role will also support the business by performing production clerical tasks, including processing and recording orders, preparing reports, fielding communications with clients and vendors, fact checking, filing, and other duties, as needed.
Pay rate:
£15.39 per hour (£30000pa)
Shift pattern:
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (with a 30min unpaid lunch break)
Scope of Daily duties:
- Ordering of all raw materials and packaging, stock replenishment and holding in a timely manner to ensure production outputs are met.
- Liaising with suppliers abroad, customs and brokers to arrange shipments of raw materials and packaging.
- Approving invoices relating to raw materials and packaging and requesting credit notes from suppliers and liaising with finance team.
- Managing all deliveries end to end and liaise with dispatch and production on status.
- Arranging all transport, managing customer relations with transport companies and dealing with all queries or issues.
- Control of costs in line with production outputs and budgetary controls.
- Work closely with Production Front Line Managers to ensure that orders, stock levels and supply is monitored to minimise shortages.
- Communicate any changes in order volumes to the relevant customer contacts and production team.
- Communicate effectively with all internal departments to ensure everyone works collaboratively to achieve company objectives.
- Complete Production plan for next day, in line with orders stock and liaising with production and adjusting accordingly on a daily basis.
- Stock adjustments for raw materials and packaging.
- Setting up new contracts for raw materials and packaging.
- Setting up new suppliers on Business Central relating to raw materials and packaging and updating prices.
- Carry out monthly stock takes for raw materials and packaging.
- Ensure all documentation for department is accurately filed and stored confidentially.
- Any other reasonable office duties as required.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a Planning / Logistics role
- NVQ/SVQ in Customer Service, Levels 1 – 4; (desirable)
- NVQ/SVQ in Business and Administration, Levels 1-4; (desirable)
- Knowledgeable on all Microsoft Packages including Word, Excel and Outlook; (essential)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, preferred experience in Business Central
