Job Description:

Madison College is currently seeking a Bookstore Service Associate to join Bookstore Operations team. This role involves supporting the daily operations of the bookstore, overseen by the Associate Manager - Operations. As the bookstore operates at a high volume within the College, responsibilities include managing e-commerce orders and leading customer communications. Additionally, the position involves handling incoming merchandise, managing invoices, and supporting the rental program by overseeing rental renewals, maintaining bookshelves, setting up rental systems, and managing the disposal of old rental materials.

This is a part-time, non-exempt, 25 hours per week, 52 weeks per year position. Flexible working hours Monday through Friday between 8:00am – 5:00pm.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Responsible for eCommerce – creates, approves, and packs web orders to be shipped out, payment corrections. 
• Assists with receiving and invoicing for all incoming merchandise, rentals, and textbooks.  Handles returns to suppliers as needed.  
• Communicates with customers and responds to customer emails and voicemails through the bookstore email account.
• Completes rental renewals and student rental purchase requests.
• Set-up and maintenance of bookshelves; ensure correct tags are printed, correct editions are in proper place, set-up shelf tags, collating tags, organizing books on shelves. 
• Performs textbook/rental inventory spot checks.
• Assist with Disposition of old rental materials. 
• System set-up and maintenance for the Textbook Rental Program; set-up titles for each location for each term, establish rental periods, rental communication with staff and customers and making corrections to student rental fees. 
• Works with the Textbook Buyer to handle all grants and apprenticeship courses. 
• Maintains a commitment to the college mission, vision, and values.
• Other duties as defined by department, college, or officials.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education Level: Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university (or from an international institution with official degree-granting recognition by the Ministry of Education or equivalent body authorized to oversee academic tertiary institutions in the country).

Work Experience:

Three to Five years progressive leadership experience in an academic organization OR in a leadership role aligned with the requirements of the Associate Dean position.

AND

• Must have experience in the engineering (electrical, mechanical design, civil engineering, and electronic) and/or information technology (computer science) field.
• Experience managing a program or department, budgeting, and/or supervising employees.
• Teaching or training experience.

Madison College is hiring a full-time Student Affairs Case Manager.  This position provides support to the core functions of the Dean of Students Office (DOSO), including Student Concerns & Complaints, Student Conduct, Harassment-Discrimination, Title IX & Sexual Misconduct, and Behavioral Intervention. This position is one point of contact for initial assessment and case management for the array of assigned student-related issues referred to the Dean of Students Office. The Student Affairs Case Manager also provides consultation, guidance, and assistance with training for employees working with students of concern and/or who are in crisis by triaging and assessing student behavioral issues and/or concerns and making appropriate referrals to campus and community resources.

This position assists with coordinating and implementing a wide variety of activities/projects of a highly confidential nature using discrete and independent judgment while knowing when to seek clarification. The individual in this position will contribute to multiple concurrent projects, support internal operations and projects, and organize, create, and maintain upkeep of organizational tools to implement and manage efficient workflow in the Dean of Students Office.

Responsibilities include:

Intake, Assessment, and Case Management: Assesses and responds to student concerns and complaints against a college system, process, department, student, and/or employee by analyzing and prioritizing cases, issuing interim actions, consulting, and providing recommendations to the Dean of Students and/or designee. Manages assigned cases from intake to resolution.

• Participates in investigations of alleged student misconduct (including violations of the Student Conduct Code, Title IX, and Discrimination policies) by conducting interviews with relevant individuals, assisting with report writing, and ensuring communication with all parties involved. This includes assessing any potential threats towards themselves or others. Provides recommendations on the best course of action to address any behavioral concerns and collaborates with the team to create the BIT agenda and maintain minutes of weekly meetings.
• Captures and manages case information in compliance with college, state, and federal regulations and requirements. Maintains clear and timely case documentation and case outcomes using the case management software.
• Provides consultation to faculty and staff regarding student development, success strategies, student concerns, and classroom management strategies while maintaining student confidentiality. Takes appropriate action to resolve issues with faculty, staff, and students.
• Offers supplementary assistance in managing the DOSO student disciplinary background check procedures and handling requests for student conduct records from external parties such as employers or transferring institutions.
• Participates as a formal committee member responsible for making decisions on student conduct cases.

General Office/Operations Support:

• Acts as a point of contact and liaison for DOSO for assigned internal and external partners. Responds to students, faculty, staff, prospective students, and external audience questions by phone, email, or in person. Provides backup to the processing of the Dean of Students Office's incoming and outgoing mail, including electronic mail. Offers guidance to individual students (i.e., complainants and respondents) regarding their rights and responsibilities.

• Uses electronic database systems (e.g., Maxient) to monitor, manage, and maintain information related to Dean of Student Office-related cases. Provides backup support for converting initial reports to cases and assigning them to the appropriate case manager for address. Enter student/employee case contacts in college record system(s) within 24 hours of contact.

• Make appropriate student referrals to on and off-campus resources (e.g., Counseling, United Way 211).

Education Programming and Training:

The School of Human and Protective Services at Madison College is hiring a Full-time Paramedic Instructor to start in the fall of 2024. • Licensed at the Paramedic level or higher in WI. Licensed as a WI EMS Instructor 2 (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).

This position instructs adult students at the technical diploma and associate degree levels, as well as to provide continuing education and customized training for business and industry. Instructors develop learner-centered instructional strategies, collaborative curriculum and assessments for continuous improvement.

This position reports to the Associate Dean - School of Technologies and Trades.

The duties listed below outline general expectations of part-time faculty. Each academic program will have specific teaching assignments that will be developed at the time of hiring, based on the department’s needs.

1. Plan, develop, and implement appropriate instructional strategies, including alternative delivery strategies when appropriate.
2. Assist and advise students who have problems with assignments, tests, grades, course content, career concerns, and other academic matters.
3. Research, develop, and administer skills assessments before, during and after courses and services with an emphasis on evaluating student performance in courses taught by the instructor.
4. Participate in instructional and curriculum articulation activities with other programs and other divisions of instruction.
5. Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing record keeping, advanced standing, providing grades on a timely basis, maintaining office hours for student assistance and counseling, etc.
6. Work closely with the College’s Business and Industry Services division to support the training needs of business partners and/or clients.
7. Maintain competencies as an instructor as aligned with the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
8. Comply with all aspects of Board policies, work rules, and the appropriate collective bargaining agreement.
9. Attend division, department and advisory committee meetings.
10. Develop and implement strategies aimed at the retention of students of color, female students, English Language Learners (ELL), and students with disabilities.
11. Participate in appropriate staff development activities such as diversity awareness, technology training, etc.

• Two (2) years of full-time equivalent teaching experience in a related area at an accredited college within the past five (5) years may be substituted for the one (1) year of related work experience within the past five (5) years.

OR

1. Seven (7) years or 14,000 hours of related work experience.
• One (1) year (2,000 hours) of related work experience must be within the past five (5) years.
