We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated pharmacy technician with excellent organisational skills to join our team in Outpatient Pharmacy. As a member of the Outpatient Pharmacy team, you would contribute to the provision of a range of pharmaceutical services: dispensing and issuing prescriptions, giving advice where appropriate, working alongside pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy dispensers to ensure all pharmacy duties are carried out in accordance with legal guidelines and departmental procedures to meet the needs of our customers.

This post would suit somebody with a hospital pharmacy background, or with community pharmacy experience wishing to make a change into the hospital environment. Further training and development will be provided.

You must have successfully completed the relevant training and be registered with The General Pharmaceutical Council as a pharmacy technician.

You should have experience in working as a qualified pharmacy technician, good communication and experience of using computer systems for dispensing, stock control and word processing. You will gain experience with hospital-only medicines and close working with multi-disciplinary teams.

Thesuccessful applicant would ideally hold full accreditations in accuracy checking, but if this is not the case, would be recruited at band 4 and upon completion of allnecessary training and competencies they would be promoted to band 5

This role will primarily be based at the Winchester site, however travel may be required to the Basingstoke site, assisting the service as required.

Winchester mortuary cares for approximately 1200 deceased patients annually, with around 620 post-mortem examinations performed on behalf of HM Coroner and Hampshire police services (Forensic). Basingstoke mortuary cares for approximately 1500 deceased patients annually, with around 750 post-mortem examinations.

HHFT also supports a 24/7 on call service to HM Coroner and Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust, which is currently 1 in 3, of which the successful applicant will be required to participate in, following sufficient training and must have a full UK driving license with access to their own vehicle. The Peritoneal Malignancy Institute Basingstoke is a national treatment centre where patients with peritoneal malignancy can be treated with cytoreduction and Heated Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC). The service is based at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust on the Basingstoke site.

The Peritoneal Malignancy Institute is one of the highest volume international centres and one of only two centres in England providing treatment for Pseudomyxoma peritonei. The service therefore provides advice and treatment for patients across England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

As a member of the Clinical Nurse Specialist team you will develop strong relationships with your patients and their carers, offering high level care and expert advice to support them through their diagnosis, treatment and recovery. You will have a key role within the MDT, coordinating the patient pathway, providing specialist input into the MDT and new referral meetings and acting as a keyworker for patients. You will develop skills to enable you to provide expert advice to local teams offering support, information and advice to enhance collaborative working on a national basis.

HHFT pharmacy aseptic services have an exciting new opportunity within the aseptic team.

We are looking to recruit a Senior Pharmacy Assistant to expand our team within our busy but friendly aseptic services unit based within the pharmacy department. The aseptic services unit provides chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition to the patients of Hampshire Hospitals.

The role involves cleaning and monitoring within the pharmacy cleanrooms, completion of batch worksheets and labels, assembly of raw materials, aseptic preparation of chemotherapy and monoclonal antibody products within pharmaceutical isolators, according to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and dispensing of ready-to-administer specials products.

A level of fitness is required as the role does require some physical activity and manual handling.

To carry out and/or ensure that the daily recording of the isolator and clean room pressure readings are undertaken reporting any problems immediately to senior aseptic staff.

To clean the isolator, clean rooms, and preparation areas according to departmental standard operating procedures (SOP’s).

Maintain stock levels of equipment and materials within the clean rooms and isolator.

Setting up and assembly of materials for aseptic preparations (including calculations) using the in-house batch code system and paperwork. Ensuring that product accountability and reconciliation is always adhered to by accurate completion of batch worksheets and other necessary documentation.

Performing aseptic manipulations within the isolators, to produce a variety of products.

Complying with departmental health and safety procedures at all times, including spillage procedures and dealing with hazardous chemicals. Maintaining safe systems of work within the section to ensure compliance with Infection Control, the Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH and NHS guidance.

To carry out general housekeeping duties across the department, unpacking goods, putting them away in the correct location, checking expiry dates, reporting discrepancies, and keeping the environment clean and tidy.
