Job Description:
Summary of Position
The Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) assists clients with articulating personal goals for recovery; assisting participants in determining reasonable and holistic steps in recovery; and identifying barriers to recovery goals. A PRS will assist individuals in identifying personal strengths in daily living and recovery skills. In addition, a PRS will teach participants problem solving skills, how to identify and combat negative self-talk, how to build social supports, and how to self-advocate. PRS will intervene, coordinate and provide connection to care as directed by the clinical team. PRS will complete screens/assessments and evidence protocols as trained and supported through Centerstone.
Shift
This position will be a mobile role in the community as well as office based. Hours will be 4pm-12am Wed- Sun.

Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
PRS Certification is required. Must be able to verify completion of state-approved training program and passing score on certification exam, if not currently certified, must become certified within 90 days unless otherwise approved by the hiring manager.

Stays overnight at recovery house to provide general oversight, manage curfews, maintain house rules, and complete required reporting. Performs basic custodial functions for the facilities, amenities, and greenspace of the park including set up and cleaning for daily activities and events. Is responsible for street cleaning, parks cleaning, painting, debris removal, landscaping, grooming greenspace areas. Operates various equipment, including blowers, Weed Eaters, shovels, and related attachments used at work sites. Regularly checks equipment to ensure proper use. Performs related duties as assigned. Maintains inventory of equipment/tools, and institutional supplies. Engages in snow removal for facility entrances and parking lots during the winter. Assists City personnel, as necessary, for the operation of the street department and Parks and Recreation Department.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS - Working knowledge of all applicable safety precautions related to and the ability to safely operate mechanical equipment, power equipment, and other tools necessary for the job.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE - High school education or equivalent. Assists clients with daily living activities and tracks, monitors and documents behaviors and interactions. Plans therapeutic recreation activities for groups, steers department philosophy toward purposeful interventions and therapies, works with other clinical staff on special projects and duties. The chosen candidate will be working with male and female adults over the age of 18. The position is for a full-time floater between 2 group homes and our transitional facility all in Richmond, Indiana.
