Grosvenor Mine has two exciting opportunities for an experienced Ventilation Officer to join the team on a permanent basis, based in Moranbah, QLD. You will be able to display a high level of strategic thinking, planning and problem-solving skills which will be instrumental in your success in this role.

Reporting to the Ventilation & Gas Superintendent, your key accountabilities include:

• The implementation of the mine’s ventilation system and the establishment of effective standards of ventilation for the mine
• Ensure the mine’s air quality is measured and recorded under section 362
• Maintain all ventilation system changes in the mine and ensure all ventilation control devices are properly constructed and maintained
• Work closely with the BCO Ventilation & Gas team and provide strategic advice on short to medium term mine development to optimize the value of the mine in terms of ventilation
• Assist with the management, planning, implementation and monitoring of the underground mine ventilation and gas drainage systems to ensure effectiveness against legislation and site requirements
• Maintain the mine’s statutory compliance with the Coal Mine Safety and Health Regulations by implementing and maintaining gas monitoring systems

Our Grosvenor Mine are on the lookout for a Deputy to join the team on a permanent basis. You will be driving, leading, and coaching the crews to ensure the site operational plans are implemented and delivered whilst maintaining a diligent focus on safety. Your zero-harm mindset will be forefront of everything you do. This role sees you accountable for managing the safety, productivity, and reporting of all personnel and resources.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Provide effective leadership of the operational teams in accordance with the daily plan.
• Direct, control and manage mine performance within the shift/day to ensure high standards of safety, quality and productivity are achieved.
• Be accountable for driving, leading, and coaching the crews to ensure the site operational plans are implemented and delivered whilst maintaining a focus on safety and standards.
• Contribute to the ongoing management of a reliable short-term mine plan and continually seek to identify areas for improvement to ensure operational excellence is achieved.
• Identify process improvements and ensure effective communication to relevant stakeholders across the business.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation of the mine’s ventilation system and the establishment of effective standards of ventilation for the mine, while your diverse capability in communicating with a range of stakeholders, you will provide strategic advice on short to medium term mine development to optimise the value of the mine in terms of ventilation.

You will also assist with the management, planning, implementation and monitoring of the underground mine ventilation and gas drainage systems to ensure effectiveness against legislation and site requirements. You will be able to display a high level of strategic thinking, planning and problem-solving skills which will be instrumental in your success in this role.

To be successful in the role you will have:

• You will hold a Ventilation Officers Practicing Certificate issued by the Board of Examiners
• Demonstrated experience in an underground coal mining operation as well as specialist knowledge in ventilation.
• Ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems, and a continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to influence and build relationships throughout the site
• A strong background in ensuring hazard identification and risk assessment principles, coupled with the compliance of all ventilation matters relating to legislation and the site safety management system

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will be an energetic mining professional looking for an amazing career progression opportunity at Grosvenor Mine. You will provide best practice survey services to the site, whilst ensuring statutory compliance and maintaining standard for the surveying aspects of the annual technical services plan.

You will also produce timely and accurate weekly reports and plans of the mining operation, whilst providing advice on emerging or key surveying issues with a short-term focus and recommend approaches to systematically deal with them that are consistent with the Technical Services plan and strategies.

This role will see you responsible for:

• Lead and supervise the surveying team onsite as the registered mine surveyor
• Provide survey set out, pickup, reconciliation and reporting services
• Engage and collaborate with technical services personnel and production crews
• Provision of design compliance plans on a weekly basis or as required
• Provide built surfaces using Maptek scanners, Leica GPS, and Drone surveys, weekly or as required
• Maintain the Coal Mine Workings Plan for annual submission

Our underground coal mine, Aquila, has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Services Superintendent that is based in Middlemount, QLD. You will work with our industry-leading remotely operated autonomous longwall technology, where our Aquila Mine won the Outstanding Mine Performance category at the 2023 Australian Mining Prospect Awards.

The mine features two longwall systems (walk on, walk off) ensuring production continuity. Both longwalls are fully remote capable from the site-based Remote Operations Centre (ROC) on the surface of the mine.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will drive the provision of comprehensive ventilation and gas management and other technical services in order to support the safe achievement of the mine’s operational targets. You will generally support all technical services functions as the effective department second in charge.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Management and control of the underground mine ventilation system, gas management systems and mine environmental monitoring system
• Implementation of best practice gas drainage and ventilation practices
• Leading a team of ventilation and gas drainage professionals
• Develop medium and long term plans which align to the mine business plan and overall ventilation strategy
• Ongoing design, planning, implementing and monitoring of system effectiveness against legislative and corporate requirements as well as driving performance in your team
• Undertake and participate in a variety of ventilation and gas projects for improvement of mine operations
• Provide technical assistance in order to ensure hazard identification and risk assessment principles are firmly applied to all processes to ensure a safe underground working environment
• Liaise with the operations team to ensure targets are safety delivered in accordance with the annual mine plan
• Lead mining projects and facilitate solutions to technical and operational problems.

Our Grosvenor Mine is in the central of the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, which is just over a 2-hour drive from Mackay and 4 hours from Rockhampton. FIFO, DIDO & subsidised residential or camp accommodation options are available. Our mine and camps are situated only 10 minutes from the township of Moranbah, with airport bus transfers included.  

We are a large underground coal mine with a 20-year operation mine life. We require experienced Development Mechanical Fitters to support our Grosvenor Mine operations. 

Reporting to the Development Mechanical Coordinator, you will undertake mining activities in-line with the shift plan which maximises safe & efficient practices, and consistently demonstrate positive behaviours as per the Anglo American Guiding Values: Safety, Collaboration, Integrity, Accountability, Care & Respect, & Innovation

Our Grosvenor Mine is currently in search of seasoned Outbye Fitters to become integral members of our team, contributing to the safe and efficient execution of mining operations. In this role, your responsibilities will include addressing and rectifying mechanical faults within Outbye services and equipment, such as pumping infrastructure, hydraulic-powered plants, and the coal clearance conveyor system.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in Outbye operations, encompassing the investigation, diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of large underground mining equipment. Additionally, proficiency in the safe operation of LHD machinery with a capacity of 15 tonnes or less is a key requirement.

Aquila Mine are seeking a Longwall Electrician to join our operation based in Middlemount on a permanent basis! You will work with our industry-leading remotely operated autonomous longwall technology, where our Aquila Mine won the Outstanding Mine Performance category at the 2023 Australian Mining Prospect Awards.

Reporting to the Mining Superintendent: Longwall, the primary purpose of the role is to complete all longwall maintenance tasks safely and efficiently and to assist Aquila Mine in achieving its goal of zero harm, maximising production output and minimising production costs. The Underground Electrician is responsible for ensuring all activities undertaken are performed in line with safety and statutory requirements.  You will be required to complete longwall maintenance duties to ensure the team safely meets production targets in accordance with the annual mine plan.

Aquila Mine features two longwall systems (walk on, walk off) ensuring production continuity. Both longwalls are fully remote capable from the site-based Remote Operations Centre (ROC) on the surface of the mine. The Longwall Move department is a vital part of this strategy to maintain longwall continuity.

We are currently seeking highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor - Heavy Mobile Equipment to join our Maintenance Department at our Capcoal Surface Operation in Middlemount, QLD.

A key part of this role you will be providing technical support and advice to the Maintenance team on ways to optimise equipment reliability and availability.

We are seeking an applicant who possess the drive and passion to develop a culture focused on safety and efficiency that will be able to deliver high availability and reliability to our fleet of equipment.

In this crucial role, you will report directly to the Superintendent for the relevant area to provide frontline leadership in our Maintenance department.

You will be required to ensure all mechanical tasks are carried out in a safe, timely and cost effective manner. Your focus on continuous improvement, strong leadership capability and knowledge of computer based maintenance programs will be necessary in this role.

You will be expected to assist with maintenance budgets and add value through developing strong team dynamics and a positive working environment.

Additionally, you will support effective resource allocation (people, equipment, and resources) to meet maintenance work schedules, whilst consistently striving to achieve zero harm to employees and contractors.

This role will see you lead a team of trades’ people to deliver planned and corrective maintenance while having extensive experience in mining mobile equipment such as trucks, dozers, loaders, excavators, and graders.

You will be focused on zero harm, be driven and have strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to be able to influence that stakeholder buy in. 

Aquila Mine is an underground coal mine based in the heart of Middlemount, QLD. We are currently seeking a highly motivated training professional competent in delivering site training packages and driving initiatives to achieve business goals. You will provide operational delivery to the training team and work closely with the operational Training Coordinator to identify and recommend opportunities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the training department.

As the Training Officer (Underground Operations) reporting to the Training Superintendent, your duties include:

• Facilitate site inductions and other training activities that are conducted across the site including light vehicle, self-escape, and operational equipment
• Provide coaching and mentoring to the crew trainer and assessors
• Contribute to the technical input into training and assessment material (including digital training material)
• Work with operational crews to ensure qualifications and tickets are current (including refresher courses, updated packages, etc.)
• Work closely with the Training Coordinator to monitor benchmarks and identify performance gaps in crew training requirements
• Consistently apply Safety & Heath principles in all site interactions and take full ownership for safety on site

Aquila Mine are currently seeking Surface Infrastructure Fitters on a permanent basis to support the Surface Coordinators in maintaining systems and standards that facilitate the management of equipment to meet business objectives. Our Aquila Mine, located in Middlemount, QLD, won the Outstanding Mine Performance category at the 2023 Australian Mining Prospect Awards.

The Surface Fitter is accountable for ensuring all maintenance activities undertaken are performed in line with safety and statutory requirements. You will be responsible for all mechanical activities in your work area to safely meet daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance targets. • Undertake mechanical maintenance work on surface infrastructure of the underground mine, including buildings, support structures for underground, compressors, fixed plants, water treatment plants, ventilation fans and gas drainage works, in order to maintain safe and productive equipment

We are looking for a data driven Reliability Engineer to join the team at our Aquila mine site in Middlemount, QLD. Aquila Mine is an underground hard coking coal mine, which will extend the life of Anglo American’s existing Capcoal underground operations til 2030. As the largest underground coal miner in Australia, we are leveraging the innovative work already under way at our existing mine sites and scaling the development of new technologies in our operations.

The Reliability Engineer monitors maintenance systems and standards in order for the Engineering and Maintenance Department to predictably deliver and sustain the required asset performance and cost objectives.

Reporting to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Leading reliability improvement in the engineering and maintenance team. You will analyse the performance of all operating assets and deliver long term asset improvement.
• Be accountable for reviewing the maintenance strategies, recommending modifications, and supporting the maintenance team as required for major projects.
• Facilitate change within the team, helping and coaching maintenance personnel to improve strategies and eliminate inefficiencies from the maintenance processes.
