RHA Health Services is looking for compassionate and dependable IDD Host Home Providers to provide residential services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The term “Host Home/Life-Sharing” refers to a private residence in a residential area in which the occupant owner or lessee provides Community Residential Alternative services to one or two persons with developmental disabilities who are not related to the occupant owner or lessee by blood or marriage. A host home/life-sharing site is occupied by the owner or lessee, who is not an employee of the same community provider, which provides the host home/life-sharing services by contract with the Division of Developmental Disabilities (Division of DD). The Division of DD approves and enters into agreements with community providers, which in turn, contract with Host Home/Life-Sharing providers. The occupant owner or lessee is not the guardian of any person served, or guardian of their property, nor the agent in such person's advance directive for health care.

The Quality Services Auditor's primary responsibility is to monitor the array of services and supports needed to facilitate timely, accurate, and high quality documentation for person centered plans through RHA's electronic medical records (EMR) system. This position will integrate best practices and procedures, collaborate with operational leaders, and provide strategies to users to ensure program utilization at its fullest potential.

The position would provide remote and onsite support to several of our Sparta, NJ, and North Brunswick, NJ units.

Pay:  $28.00-$32.00

Schedule: Full time Temporary 6-12 month position

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Preferred background in Social/Human Services, Special Education, or Information Technology working with individuals with disabilities.
• Experience with Therap or other electronic health systems preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience.

• Ability to travel with specified region required. 

Responsibilities:

• Analyzes the person-centered programs and service notes for accuracy and conciseness.

Required Education/Experience:

Education- High School Diploma or equivalent; Must be at least 18 years of age

Experience- Must meet at least one of the following requirements:

• o Be a person with lived experience with an I/DD or a TBI with demonstrated knowledge of and direct personal experience navigating the North Carolina Medicaid delivery system.*
• OR
• o Be a person with lived experience with a behavioral health condition and a Certified Peer Support Specialists.
• OR
• o  Be a parent or guardian of an individual with an I/DD or a TBI or a behavioral health condition and has at least two years of direct experience providing care for and navigating the Medicaid delivery system on behalf of that individual (parent/guardian cannot serve as an extender for their family member).*

Serves as the primary contact and coordinator of services supporting individuals with Mental Health or Substance Abuse Issues in residential, school, workplace and community settings. Coordinates and monitors the array of services and supports identified in each person’s Person Centered Plan. Supervises and directs the work of others to provide quality services.

Responsibilities: 

• Works closely with paraprofessional and clinical/professional staff to maintain communication and provide feedback, standardize procedures and expedite PCP implementation.
• Participates in a first responder on-call system available to consumers and/or his/her natural support network on a 24/7/365 basis; coordinates “first response” resources according to consumer need and the PCP.
• Provides employees with individual-specific training and training in the knowledge, skills, and abilities required by the population and age to be served.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and applying corrective action to employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Completes Service Authorization Requests as needed and ensure that current service authorization is in place prior to the provision of any service
• Provides clinical supervision to all employees
• Minimizes the negative effects of psychiatric symptoms or substance dependence that interfere with the recipient’s daily living and personal development.
• Completes documentation of services including a daily full service note that includes the name of the person supported, Medicaid identification number, date of service, purpose of contact, describes the interventions, includes the time spent performing the interventions, effectiveness of the intervention, the signature and credentials of the staff providing the service.

Requirements:

May be required to be a Qualified Professional as defined by the service definition requirements.  Qualified Professional is defined as an individual who is:

• (a) an individual who holds a license, provisional license, certificate, registration or permit issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession, except a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full-time accumulated experience in MH/DD/SA with the population served; the QP function may be completed by a Certified Clinical Addiction Specialist (CCAS) or Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS);
• or (b) a graduate of a college or university with a Master’s degree in a human service field and has one year of full-time post-graduate degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served;
• or (c) a graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a human service field with two years of full-time, post-bachelor’s degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served; or
• (d) A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a field other than human services with four years of full-time, post-bachelor’s degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served. Must meet the education, experience, licensure/certification requirements specified by the service definition of the service being provided
• General working knowledge of the human services delivery system in North Carolina

• May attend the job of the persons we support, through training and into stabilization in the role for at least 90 days, often longer.  So if a person we supports works from 10pm - 6am, you would go to the job with them.  

Flexibility in schedule and ability to work long hours is very important for this position.

Required Education/Experience:

• o Be a person with lived experience with an I/DD or a TBI with demonstrated knowledge of and direct personal experience navigating the North Carolina Medicaid delivery system.*
