ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Needle Packaging Set-up Operators will be responsible for production on their designated lines as well as maintaining machine runtime and performing some mechanical repairs.
They may be trained on any of the processes or lines in the department to help fill production needs, but will have an assigned focus area to build expertise.
They may perform visual inspections as well as assembly or packaging operations.
Will be responsible for achieving production rate and quality goals on assigned equipment.
May require the use of 10x microscopes, calipers, and/or other miscellaneous gauges.
May be required to perform SAP data entries. Perform changeovers and line clearances.
Help maintain inventory of spare parts and prepare for upcoming work on the lines.
Must be willing to troubleshoot machines and help identify methods to increase efficiency of the lines.
Informal leader of their respective line and responsible for ensuring quality of the product they produce.

Job Summary:
Manages the Scheduling of Operations in Label Print. Responsible for Producing Quality Labels and Mats for Production Orders and External Customers in a Safe Manner, while Minimizing Waste.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Essential Functions of this Position include but are not limited to:
Managing the Scheduling and Operations of the Printing Press, Slitters and UDI Printers to produce Quality Labels in a timely manner to meet Customer Needs.
Performing Internal Scheduling of Labels to maintain an Efficient Operation with a Minimum of Down-Time for Major Changeovers.
Utilizing Mat-Making Equipment to meet Label Manufacturing Requirements.
Ensuring Quality Standards are being met and completes Quality Investigations, finding Root Cause, Corrective Action, and Preventive Action.
Coordinating with the Label Print Coordinator to ensure Orders are Set-Up on time.
Performing Preventative Maintenance of the Printing Equipment in accordance with Equipment Manuals and Vendor recommendations; refer Major Equipment Problems to the Supervisor and/or Engineering Resource.
Ensuring all Equipment PMs are Completed and orders Parts as needed from the Parts Crib.
Coordinating with Label Print Engineer and Label Print Coordinator for External Parts and Repairs.
Inspects the Raw Materials to ensure the proper Label Stock and Ink meet Specifications and communicates with incoming Supply Quality Engineer for any defects.

The Equipment Specialist:
Operates and monitors automated manufacturing equipment and processes.
Must certify on multiple processes.
May perform manual manufacturing operations such as manual packing.
Will monitor product quality in accordance with task instructions.
Conducts on-the-job training for other associates.
Works as a member of a self-directed work team.
Participates in all team meetings, activities, team building initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities:
Operates multiple processes on high speed automated or semi-automated manufacturing equipment.
Participates in all equipment changeovers or set-ups.
Monitors assigned processes to ensure high quality production.
Removes defective product from the automated or semi-automated processes.
Participates in the division of labor of self-directed work responsibilities including attendance, scheduling of work assignments, compliance audits, etc.
Maintains equipment and a clean area by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping down equipment.
Maintains an open line of communication to ensure all problems/changes are communicated and resolved in a timely manner.
Maintains records and documents as required.
Determines the cause of quality problems and takes appropriate action per the task documents.
May perform Process Control Operator duties, as required.
Works overtime as needed by the department.
Actively participates in Continuous Improvement teams and activities, including 5S, blitzes, Shift Start-up, updating PVD boards, etc.
Continuously improves through the KAS program, meeting department goals for completed KAS.
Complies with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations;BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.

Operate PRTC assembly equipment per the detailed procedures. Perform quality inspections, line clearances and record per procedure and advise Quality and Rubber Parts leadership of issues. This position supports other operations in Rubber parts as the need arises by Leadership.Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and practices and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.

The duties are to include, but not limited to:
Light manual assembly, 100% inspection to packaging requirements and machine operation.
Must be familiar with specifications outlined in the process procedures, Quality Control Specifications, Drawings and GMP Manuals.
Perform and record quality checks and line clearances as required per documentation.
Will be required to wear appropriate apparel for entry into the clean room environment. Must comply with protective clothing policy and all safety policies.
The operation includes issuing goods to production orders, bagging, packaging, labeling and and staging components for each operation per documented procedure.
May be required to operate material handling equipment. Operations may include starting and stopping machine, selecting the material combination program as required, performing line clearances, fill hoppers, bagging, and packaging/ labeling per documented procedures
Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

Job Overview
1.1 This is an entry level position that outlines the following requirements of a Setup I position. It is the responsibility of the Setup I to learn and understand all of the essential functions, responsibilities and demonstrate Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost to the Facilitator. This position may require training on an off shift and to work during plant shutdown periods. The LOV assigned to curriculum must be completed within one year and consistently demonstrate proficiency for a minimum of one year. Failure to do so may result in removal from position.
1.2 TECHNICAL - Within the year of on the job training the associate:
1.2.1 Will have detailed operational knowledge of the equipment and operates within specified quality/quantity limits.
1.2.2 Will be able to set up, adjust and maintain equipment in working order to produce product within specified quality and quantity limits; adjusting, troubleshooting, cleaning and repairing as necessary.
1.2.3 Is also responsible for the maintaining of the equipment logs for each piece of equipment, recording pertinent information about downtime and maintenance problems, as required. MUST have clear and legible hand writing.
1.2.4 Repairs equipment within their capability and reports major problems to facilitator and/or Engineering Technician.
1.2.5 Performs and documents preventative maintenance on the equipment as specified in the P.M. program or as required.
1.2.6 Must demonstrate leadership qualities to successfully lead a team of 3-4 associates on a line to meet run, changeover, and setup goals.
1.2.7 Working knowledge of light curtains, safety switches, and to ensure that safety guards are in place.
