The Laboratory for Translational and Molecular Imaging (LTMI) at Duke-NUS Medical School is looking for a Research Assistant who will execute preclinical in vivo multimodal imaging studies, including nuclear medicine (PET/SPET/CT) in the context of a multidisciplinary laboratory to aid in the evaluation, validation, and translation of novel methodologies.

The selected candidate will be tasked with management and execution of day-to-day operations of imaging-related laboratory functions, including but not limited to laboratory maintenance, study design and execution, data analysis, as well as the communication of project updates. The position provides excellent opportunities for personal growth in project management and cross-disciplinary learning within the emerging fields of immuno-oncology and infectious diseases, as well as extensive exposure to preclinical and broader research ecosystems throughout Singapore.

• Partner with group members and external stakeholders in the exploration of research literature, definition of project scope and design of experiments.
• Hands-on execution of preclinical in vivo imaging experiments in a collaborative, matrixed environment involving parallel assays and end points.
• Development and execution of relevant and potentially novel data processing and analysis methodologies befitting the needs of a specific project.
• Active communication with external stakeholders with the timely production of comprehensive research reports, including the generation of relevant data visualisations for publication or presentation purposes.
• Maintenance and execution of institutional SOPs and records in relation to radiation and animal safety.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering, Radiologic Sciences, Pharmacology or related Biomedical Degree with at least 2 years of experience in an in vivo imaging or pharmacology laboratory. Candidates with higher credentials may be considered for more senior appointments.
• Prior research expertise in academic or industrial projects utilising imaging techniques, animal husbandry, development and evaluation of rodent animal models or biomarkers/tracers. Individuals familiar with multiple imaging modalities (PET/SPECT/CT/optical) and analysis workflows (e.g. PMOD/AMIDE/Imalytics Preclinical software) are preferred but not required.
• Handle radioactive materials, including injection to animals and follow-up necropsy for bio-distribution studies and/or ex vivo assessment (e.g. cryo-sectioning, IHC, IF, H&E staining).
• Project management skills with an ability to navigate complex experimental designs.
• Comfortable with various computer operating systems and programs, including management of imaging data.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and able to partner with different external stakeholders.

The post is to work collaboratively with education establishments providing information, support and advice in relation to vulnerable learners facing barriers to their learning. This could include learners with a range of needs, including those with complex needs, communication difficulties (including autism) learning disability, social, emotional and behavioural needs and anxious non-attenders.

The NIHR TM-MIC is funded to build expertise and capacity in the NHS to support the development of new medical technologies to enable improved management of the trauma care pathway from the point of injury through to stabilisation and recovery. MD-TEC is a unique, state of the art usability facility undertaking ergonomic and user-based testing on pre regulatory medical technologies The Clinical Director Professor Tom Clutton-Brock is a senior clinical academic in anaesthesia and intensive care with a career long success in bringing new medical devices to market. We are seeking to recruit a Clinical Research Fellow in anaesthesia who will be supervised by Professor Clutton-Brock and Simon Smart to provide the clinical lead on all innovation studies. The majority of studies will be around usability; however it is anticipated that there will be some requirement around clinical investigation development and delivery, along with adoption evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Teach students with mild to moderate learning disabilities depending on student need (small group ‘push-in’ or ‘pull out’). Could be a co-teaching situation.
• Case management of students with learning challenges: facilitating teacher and parent meetings; facilitating Student Support Team.

• Plan professional development opportunities for staff/and or parents when needed.
• Participation in curriculum review and development, extra-curricular and activity week programs/Week Without Walls, ISS pastoral care program (homeroom duties, reporting procedures, student guidance, liaison with ISS Student Services), ongoing school development programs and school's accreditation program.
• Support of the ISS Strategic Plan.
• Provide support for the ISS Marketing department initiatives.
• Provide support for the ISS Admissions department initiatives.
• Implementation of the ISS Discipline Policy.
• Relief teaching, student supervision and as required by the Academic Directors.
• Attend and participate in all staff meetings, In-Service Day programs, relevant training programs and in school events (Parents Evenings, Concert, Graduation, etc).
• Ongoing professional training to remain up to date with educational developments.
• Awareness of evacuation and safety procedures and its communication to students as directed by the ISS Safety Officer.

Counsellor

Responsibilities

Counselling (individual and group)

• Provide personal counselling to students or if necessary, provide referral service to appropriate community agencies.
• Provide academic or social counselling to students individually and in groups if meetings with academic staff have proved unsuccessful.
• Facilitate the delivery of developmental, remedial and preventive programmes.

Consulting

• Meeting with parents to discuss issues such as problems in classes or situations which may arise in the school, concern over a student’s health or well-being or ask about previous history.
• Attend meetings with teachers to discuss such issues as placement of students, concern over a student’s health or well-being.
• Referral of student and/or student’s family to the appropriate community agency.

Coordination

• Communication of counseling and support services through online or face-to-face media.
• Implementation of policies required by the administration and informing appropriate administrator of concern of, or problem with students.
• Participation in the development and delivery of the Pastoral Care programme.
• Collaboration with the Homeroom teacher, Nurse, Guardianship Coordinator, or Academic Directors to determine best course of action for specific situations.
• Member of the Child Protection Committee.

Student Evaluation

• Ensuring appropriate student placement, in initial admission of student and also during school year
• Monitoring student progress socially, physically and emotionally
• Monitoring of students who are having issues with sleep, smoking, alcohol, stress, behavioural issues.
• Advising students on additional academic programmes they may need to support learning.
• Assessment of new students by reviewing their transcripts, contacting schools where necessary and discussion with student and parent.
• Contacting teachers where necessary and informing them of any concerns or problems with students.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Subject and Specialist teachers are informed, reflective practitioners who use inquiry-based teaching strategies to create positive learning environments that motivate and challenge all learners to become self-regulated, life-long learners and leaders. A specialist teacher will teach a specific subject or discipline to classes as assigned and a subject teacher will teach Secondary only.

• Relevant curriculum experience
