Join our Oncology R&D team as a Senior Director, Precision Medicine, Antibody Drug Conjugates & Computational Pathology. You will be accountable for ensuring that diagnostic tests or equivalent segmentation tools are delivered to our portfolio of antibody drug conjugate products within Early Oncology. This role is pivotal in leading all aspects of the development of traditional and computational pathology tools for patient segmentation.
Accountabilities:
As a Senior Director, you will provide strategic direction, leadership, and planning. You will ensure the adoption of appropriate traditional pathology and computational pathology diagnostic development strategies within the product teams. You will also provide leadership to the Precision Medicine Leaders leading all aspects of the Antibody Drug Conjugate projects. You will be accountable for the delivery of diagnostic plans to time, budget and quality for all ADC projects in the portfolio.
Essential Skills/Experience:
PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant subject
Experience in novel diagnostic approaches, eg ctDNA and/ or digital pathology, in clinical development, within a diagnostic or pharmaceutical setting
Significant experience of Precision Medicine approaches and diagnostic development within oncology
Experience and track record in pathology-based diagnostics
Evidence of excellent skills in communication, customer influencing, programme management, and regulatory interactions

What you’ll do
You'll engage medical/ scientific experts in in-depth medical/ scientific product or disease area discussions, and deliver presentations in a non-promotional scientific context as determined by global/local Medical Affairs plans and in line with the area therapeutic brand strategy. You'll also act as an educational resource to internal stakeholders, providing medical/ scientific knowledge, training, and support to internal stakeholders on AstraZeneca's marketed products and compounds in development.

Main duties and responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible in leading the strategic, statistical thinking and contributions to the Development Plans, Regulatory Strategy, Health Technology Assessment and Commercial Presentation for indications/projects within an AZ product team.
You will provide leadership to statistical staff on the indications/projects so that all work is carried out with regards to AZ standards and external regulations; through partnership with experts, developing design options and providing high quality decision support to enable the business to make informed decisions; quantifying the benefit, risk, value and uncertainty of the emerging product profile.
You will be holding CRO/Partners accountable for the high quality standards of their deliverables. You will represent AZ and Statistics to Health Authorities and Reimbursement/Payer Organisations for specific projects/indications.
You will apply expert skills to investigate, apply novel statistical approaches, for relevant statistical issues and/or regulatory guidance and/or value demonstration. You will mentor/coach and support the education and training of Statistics staff in the technical arena.
