Deputy Manager - Are you an experienced Deputy Manager? Do you want to make a different to people's lives?
If so, read on as Spider is advertising on behalf of a charity who helps over 1,000 people who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness every year. They are currently looking for Deputy Manager to join their team inSouthend on Sea, Essex.
About the role:
The Deputy Manager role will be leading a team to deliver an intensive high quality individualised support service for women experiencing multiple disadvantages. You will be working with a gender and trauma informed approach, ensure client needs and aspirations are at the centre of the support planning process and that all aspects of the service are delivered within a psychologically informed environment. In conjunction with the Service Manager and the team, you will facilitate a program of continuous improvement in an environment where women are supported and have access to resources, they need to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes. Take a lead with the development of Team Around Me approach to case conferences.
Other main duties will include:
- Actively direct team members in their day-to-day work to ensure that each women receives a consistent, high quality and responsive service.
- Pro-actively ensuring the service operates effectively, that codes of professional conduct are adhered to, and that all team members maintain high quality standards of work practice.
- Ensure the project workers are delivering a gender and trauma informed approach, and this is reflected in assessment, support and risk management planning.
- Ensure that incidents/safeguarding are fully managed and appropriately addressed, using a reflective practice approach to review each situation.
- Lead and support the project workers in creating a community of support and empowerment between the women with a focus on building individualised and highly personalised skills and resources to aid long-term recovery.
- Contribute to the continuing development of the service by reviewing and evaluating the offer, keeping up to date in relation to best practice, new ideas and ways of working.
- Develop and deliver a suitably tailored, and co-produced range of activities and on-site specialist services, working with a gender informed approach, using a strengths and recovery framework, ensure client needs and aspirations are at the centre of the support planning process and that all aspects of the service are delivered within a psychologically informed environment.
- Ensure that information on the database is accurate and fully updated so that it is always available for monitoring and reporting purposes and in line with Data Protection requirements.
- To work within the Team Around Me approach to case conferences.
About you:
You will need previous experience managing a diverse team effectively, motivate staff members to perform effectively, staff development, and performance evaluation. Experience and an in-depth understanding of the principles and delivery of risk and needs assessment, planned support, goal setting, using a trauma informed approach and the ability to share and support others to deliver this. Experience of all aspects of Housing Management. You will have the ability to co-ordinate the work of several individuals or agencies to get tasks completed within timescales. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will be proactive, self-motivating, work well under pressure.
Hours of work will be 37 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £30,439 rising incrementally to £34,820 per annum.
