You will have experience completing process & system improvement. Experience dealing with ERP systems is a bonus but not essential.

Job Description
This position has responsibilities for the research and development (R&D) tax credit process and tax compliance related to collaborations and reports to the Director of Tax Operations. The incumbent will work with the Tax Director and outside advisors to calculate the annual R&D tax credits and manage the completion of partnership tax returns. This position will work on key tax provision and tax return calculations supporting the Tax Operations Group in the Corporate Tax Department. This position will be asked to liaise with Business Unit Finance and Tax teams and other Internal Departments.
Your Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work with the Tax Director and outside 3rd party advisors to calculate the annual R&D credits and Section 174 analysis and prepare related workpapers for quarterly tax provisions and estimated tax payments.
• Quarterly calculation of deemed tax partnerships taxable income for inclusion in the overall Company’s tax provision reporting and estimated tax payments, including partnering with accounting and business finance teams to collect and validate required information.
• Review partnership tax returns, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant laws.
• Undertake special projects as they relate to U.S. compliance involving transactions of tax significance.
• Prepare annual and/or quarterly US provision for income taxes under GAAP for assigned legal entities and book/tax adjustments.
• Assist the Tax Director with SOX related items for all the above and help maintain key internal control processes and procedures.
• Potential for reviewing US federal income tax returns, state income and franchise tax returns (stand-alone and unitary) including disclosures, attachments, and workpapers. Support the completion and filing of the US Consolidated Federal tax return. Review calculations and forms for quarterly estimated tax payments and annual extensions. Compliance with ASC740 by calculating deferred tax entries on temporary tax adjustments, completing validation of deferred tax balances, and Federal and State return to accrual reconciliations.
Requirements:
5-7 plus years' experience in U.S. tax compliance and /or tax accounting.
Experience in ASC740 related to U.S. tax matters.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Suite Apps
Experience in preparation of Federal Forms 1120 and 1065 and associated state and local corporate tax returns.
Strong experience with accounting mechanics and GAAP concepts and related procedures.
Experience with Research and Development Credit rules and methods.
Strong project management skills with the ability to lead processes.
Strong analytical skills to perform necessary reconciliations.
Motivated mindset and the ability to work independently.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Sound research skills of tax technical issues.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Certified Public Accountant with strong core accounting skills.
Technology and experience in automation process using tools such as Alteryx, Power BI etc.

CLA is looking to hire a Senior Tax Manager or Director to join our Greater Philadelphia and NJ Team based out of one of the following offices: King of Prussia, PA, Bethlehem, PA, Livingston, NJ, or Woodcliff Lake, NJ. You’ll have the opportunity in this role to work with our various private clients and other business clients as you determine how you would like to progress in your inspired career.
How you’ll create opportunities in this Senior Tax Manager/Director role:
Consult with clients on business processes such as succession and tax planning.
Lead, schedule, supervise, and review tax engagements.
Develop and train team members to help them build inspired careers.
Foster and build opportunities for our clients, communities, and people.
Become an industry professional and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
Perform a range of tax procedures in accordance with the size and complexity of the engagement.
Review complex corporate tax returns.
What you will need:
You have a minimum of 6 years of experience serving in a tax role with a public accounting firm.
You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
You have an active JD, CPA, or EA certification.
You are looking for a firm that will support and foster your aspiring career goals.
