About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Director for Global Site Security within the Northeastern University Police Department (NUPD), the Physical Security Technology Manager will be based on the Oakland campus with extensive travel requirements to the West Coast Global Network locations. 

Travel to the International and East Coast Global Network locations will also be occasionally required. Travel to additional site locations may be required dependent on university expansion.  This position requires a valid U.S. Passport.

Responsibilities:

The main focus of this position will be daily support of the security technology systems on the Oakland Campus, to include cameras, alarms, access control measures, and other related components.  The Physical Security Technology Manager will support the public safety dispatch center and systems, and will also serve as the project lead for security technology related projects.

The Physical Security Technology Manager will also oversee maintenance, expansion, and projects for the security systems located within the West Coast Global Network locations and other locations as needed. This position will work closely with the NUPD Security Technology team, as well as all other functions within the NUPD, to ensure that standing prescriptions and university best practices are being modeled across the network.

The approximate breakdown of responsibilities is as follows:

Project Management (35%)

• Represents the Oakland Campus as a Security Project Manager for any renovations, repairs, or new construction and liaises with Facilities/Design & Construction through regular meetings.
• Coordinates external vendors and conducts project management for installations.
• Conducts site security assessments for both existing and new campus facilities.
• Meets with university departments to provide security technology recommendations and coordination of installation

Daily Case Management (35%)

• Develops and implements effective testing, maintenance, inspection, programming, and upgrading of all security equipment.
• Provide professional IT/IS services and support for all equipment and software within department including computers, servers, telephones and portable radios.

Administration (30%)

• Manage the development, implementation, testing and maintenance of university security operating systems and hardware including card access, alarms, and CCTV cameras.
• Trains, supports, and provides internal consultation for public safety operational units and personnel.
• Main administrator for all Oakland -based public safety technology systems and servers, including extensive camera and alarm network, emergency phones, and radio infrastructure.

Qualification Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in information technology, homeland security, criminal justice, or a related field
• At least 2 years of commensurate experience, including experience with physical security and/or information technology
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively – to present ideas, both in writing and orally, in an understandable, technical and non-technical manner, with internal and external constituencies
• Ability to effectively instruct and lead training sessions related to security technology
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and Passport
• Flexible schedule to accommodate travel

To provide second line support for all aspects of the Group’s Information Security strategy and arrangements encompassing cultural, physical and technology elements throughout the business, with the primary focus being on Info Sec programme governance and oversight.

Working as part of the Group Risk and Compliance department, the second line Info Sec team interact regularly with the first line IT Security team, providing oversight, challenge and validation of operational controls and procedures. The role holder will work closely with business and technology teams to help articulate and communicate the Info Sec governance programme, identify risks and threats, and evaluate and help implement controls and improvements.

Tasks (what does the role do on a day-to-day basis)

• Support the management of Information Security governance for the organization, ensuring adherence to Group policies and standards.

Job Summary

The Regional Manager, Legal and Compliance APAC, will provide legal support for the APAC business, including to support the Regional Directors, Legal, based in Sydney and Singapore who together support the business in Australia, New Zealand, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea and Vietnam/Export Markets.

This position will include drafting and negotiating various business agreements, contracts between Zimmer Biomet and healthcare partners or other third parties, reviewing promotional and educational materials, and supporting Company Secretariat activities for the companies in the APAC group. This individual will provide legal advice on a broad range of issues to support the business units to achieve their goals and mitigate risk to the company. This individual will further provide support to various activities of the Corporate Compliance Program. This individual will report to the Regional Director, Legal, Asia Pacific, based in Singapore. This position is based in Singapore.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the Regional Directors, Legal, Asia Pacific (based in Singapore and Sydney) as requested, in performing general legal services to support the business and development activities of Zimmer Biomet in Asia Pacific. Support regional and global legal initiatives and projects as required.
• Provide contract support to the business including drafting, reviewing, negotiating and settling legal contracts and transactional agreements.
• Review of marketing collaterals and policy documents as required.
• Review and advise on legal implications of internal policies and procedures. Conduct legal research on new or pending legislation and regulations impacting company’s operations to ensure compliance and share knowledge with the rest of the APAC Legal team as required.
• Support requirements of the Corporate Compliance Program, as necessary. Compliance support will include review of requests for grants funding, marketing sponsorships, support for Compliance training activities, and approvals for HCP engagements on development projects.
• Support Corporate Secretarial activities in APAC including management of external Company Secretarial services providers and circulating documents for review and execution by company office holders.
• Updating and maintaining APAC template agreements on SharePoint
• Support for Corporate and Regional development and other projects

Education/ Experience Requirements

Travel Requirements

• Estimated at 5-10%.
• Travel may be required from time to time on short notice as most travel will be within the Asia Pacific countries, but occasional travel to the United States to attend global department meetings may be expected.

Position Summary:

Ensure, manage and maintain a high security standard on the overall safety and security of the premises as well as the car parking system and account for the car park revenue. Provides investigation lead into losses, theft and other criminal activities. Advises on crisis, risk & safety management.

Primary Responsibilities:

Security & Safety

• Ensure that the Hotel is a secure and safe environment for guests, visitors and associates
• Reviews all security measures and procedures on a regular basis to ensure high security standard in the Hotel
• Develop and implement security policies, protocols and procedures
• Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events
• Coordinate the CERT team when responding to emergencies and alarm activations
• To act as a representative for the Hotel in liaising with Government law enforcement agencies affecting Security and Safety
• To carry out investigations of security incidents including thefts and losses in the Hotel and submit reports to the General Manager
• To ensure proper control of keys kept at the KMS (Key Management System) for emergency purposes or for daily draw-down and return by various users
• To lead and be responsible for the Hotel in complying with the Workplace Safety & Health Act and any of its subsidiary regulation
• To assist the Fire Safety Manager in monitoring compliance to the Fire Safety Act and any regulations imposed by the Fire Safety Bureau

Other responsibilities

Financial

1. Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses
2. To take necessary and appropriate action to protect operating equipment against loss, wastage through mishandling, negligence or dishonesty.

Guest Experience

1. To ensure that hotel management receives excellent security related services
2. To engage with guest whilst on duty in lobby and any guest facing areas

Other duties

1. Recommending appropriate measures for enhancing and hardening security & risk management related matters on all aspects of the Hotel’s premises
2. Analyze data to form proposals for improvements (e.g. implementation of new technology)
3. Any other duties of a comparable nature as may be required by the General Manager

Requirements:

• Previous experience supervising security guards is essential.
• Working hours - Monday to Friday over 12 hour shifts.
• Hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence.
• Proficiency in operating and managing CCTV systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Successful candidate must undergo and clear a Security Check (BS7858).
