This is an opportunity to make a real difference within NL, to raise attainment and close the poverty related attainment gap by supporting learners and developing transition arrangements for learners and families from primary to secondary. We are looking for highly effective teachers to join this newly established and exciting team, which is a development of the previous Build Back Better programme to drive forward improvement and support young people, families, schools and staff during this period of recovery.

In this role you will have the opportunity to work with the SAC Programme Team, class teachers, Education staff, partners and other agencies to achieve targets and ensure transition arrangements are effective for all learners. This focussed work, which is underpinned by the principles of the Attainment Challenge programme, will involve children, who with a block of intensive support from research-based interventions, are likely to achieve expected levels. This is likely to include delivering literacy, numeracy and HWB learning experiences and highly effective research-based approaches. You will provide targeted support to children and young people to raise attainment and improve ACEL Data in literacy and numeracy at P1, P4 and P7.

The post holders will have a key role in improving attainment through accelerated recovery, implementing and enhancing transition arrangements, as well as tracking pupil progress to ensure continuity and progression in learning. You will work collegiately with staff to embed approaches to develop a shared understanding of progress leading to appropriate pace, challenge and ultimately raising attainment and supporting a reduction of the poverty-related attainment gap.

• Work towards achieving and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators focused on International Training Delivery, Outcomes and Learner Success.

• Work with team members to engage and involve them to set team and personal objectives in line with business plan.  Provide effective performance feedback though appraisals and record on Workday.

• Assist with the shaping the International Training Delivery Team and the incorporation of digital teaching assets, teaching technologies and blended delivery models into the curriculum.

• Assist with and develop and facilitate CPD for the International Training Delivery Team to provide upskilling to take advantage of ‘digital first’ approach and new teaching equipment being invested in.

• Assist with the establishment of a clear International curriculum revision programme and renewal to maintain currency against qualification standards, regulations and legislation.

• Suggest and make recommendations to ensure that innovations and changes in practice are translated in to International training delivery.

• You must promote a positive attitude towards the development and maintenance of a Health and Safety culture through all aspects of the organisation. Ensure employees within your area of responsibility are aware of their responsibilities; that they comply with Health and Safety Legislation and Fire Service College policies and procedures. You must be aware of welfare issues that may affect your personnel and be proactive in assisting and supporting them.

What we are looking for:

• Has experience of working in a uniformed training environment, ideally a Fire and Rescue Service, or at any other Higher Education establishment.

• Experience of leading operational incidents and a good knowledge of applying the Fire Service Incident Command System is desired.

• Experience of the Fire Sector is strongly desirable. A good working knowledge of the Qualifications and Curriculum Framework is preferable.

• The post holder must work well within a team and believe in delivering an excellent level of customer service. They must be an exceptional communicator with good leadership skills and results focused.

• An understanding of commercial awareness is desirable, an eye for continuous improvement and innovation is essential. The post holder will hold a nationally recognised training qualification (AET L3 minimum), in addition to the relevant assessor awards. The ideal candidate will also either hold or achieve an Internal Verifiers award.

• IT competency on Microsoft office programmes is desireable (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Barrow-in-Furness Fitness and Wellbeing Gym | Permanent | Full-Time

Salary up to £30,800.64 OTE per annum, depending on experience

As a Wellbeing Personal Trainer at our Barrow-in-Furness Fitness and Wellbeing Gym, you're confident, outgoing and approachable. Whether you've been training for a while or just recently qualified, it's important that you've achieved REPs Level 3 or CIMSPA Practitioner (or above). A natural communicator, you're great at listening, understanding and explaining things.

As a Wellbeing Personal Trainer, you will:

Salary is based on 40 hours a week, made up of 32 Hours gym floor with 8 hours of PT sessions. As your client base grows, you will drop your gym floor hours to maximise your PT earning potential of up to £30,800.64 OTE.

Whilst on probation all contracts will be a minimum of 24 gym floor hours, this is to ensure you earn a guaranteed minimum salary. Your earning will increase as you establish your PT clients and improve your earning potential.

PT sessions have a sliding scale, the more you deliver the more your take home earning potential is.
