Undertake prescribed physical observations as follows: blood pressure, temperature, respirations, blood sugars, urinalysis, weight and height, and report exceptions appropriates. Responsible for the correct administration of prescribed medication including transfusion of blood and blood products. Is wholly accountable for his / her practice in line with the NMC code of professional conduct and takes every reasonable opportunity to sustain and improve his / her knowledge and professional competence. Will be familiar with the Health and Safety at Works Act, and be aware of its implications and ensure that local unit and departmental policies are followed. Will adopt a patient orientated approach to work Will be familiar with the wards fire, manual handling and C.O.S.H.H. policies and ensure that all nurses in the ward are aware of the policies. Will be responsible for the provision and receipt of complex, sensitive or contentious information related to patients, patient care, relatives, staff and other multidisciplinary colleagues. Communicate effectively and efficiently with all members of the multi- disciplinary team regarding patient care. Will communicate with patients and relatives, making reports and liaising, as appropriate; with medical staff other members of the care team and management. Will give and receive day/night reports. Clinical The successful candidate will Share the responsibility for the assessment, resuscitation and treatment of all patients referred to the Critical Care Unit, working as part of a team with the on-call ICU consultant. What You'll Do

As an NRMA Roadside Patrol you'll play a critical role in supporting our members.    

You will provide a range of emergency roadside assistance, deliver exceptional member service and use your automotive expertise to keep our members moving in the safest way – and when they need it most. You will respond to service calls to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns, change flat tyres, jump-start vehicles, provide fuel delivery, sell and install batteries, assist lock outs & ensure all customer and job information is recorded accurately.

Your roster       

We are recruiting full-time employees to work a base of 38 hours per week between 06:00 – 24:00 , on a scheduled roster between Monday to Sunday offering attractive penalty rates . Your rosters will be supplied in advance enabling you with the flexibility to plan for positive work /life balance.  

What You'll Bring      

• Automotive/Motor Mechanic Tradesperson Certificate (NSW Fair Trading)
• Valid Australian Driver’s License (minimum full license C class)  
• Experience in mechanical repair with an understanding of motor vehicles and the motor vehicle industry  
• Knowledge of work, health and safety practices and successfully apply these skills to motor vehicle repair/servicing and customer service  
• Ability to utilise mechanical and electrical automotive expertise to assess the appropriate action to keep our members moving in the safest way

Exciting opportunities for senior trainees in Intensive Care Medicine and/or Anaesthesia to do something different: Senior Clinical Fellow in Critical Care and Anaesthesia.

Anticipated start date is July 2024 although start dates may be flexible. We will consider applicants seeking to work less-than-full-time. The post would suit an individual seeking Out of Programme for Experience (OOPE) an individual looking for post-CCT experience. Post-CCT applicants may have the option to act up as consultant with consultant support and supervision towards the end of the Fellowship period. The post will include the provision of out-of-hours Critical Care & Anaesthetic services at Kings Mill Hospital under the supervision of Consultants in both Critical Care and Anaesthetics.

You will have a named educational supervisor. 25% of time will be for supporting non-clinical activity e.g. research, training, education, administration, project work, meetings, etc. 75% will be clinical, including on-call commitment. In addition, you will have 10 days of study leave allowance and a study budget

Participate in the provision of an emergency Critical Care and/or Anaesthetic service and take part in the on-call rota.

This includes:
• Resuscitation, stabilisation and intubation of critically unwell patients outside of the operating theatre environment e.g. Critical Care Unit, remote sites
• Assessing critically unwell patients referred for Critical Care admission in the Emergency Department and wards
• Transfer level 2/3 patients safely (intra and inter-hospital)
• Participate in the educational and clinical governance within the department
• Participate in continuing professional development activities in order to maintain knowledge and skill
• Maintain professional standards and obligations as set out by the General Medical Council (GMC) and comply in
particular with the GMC’s guidance on ‘Good Medical Practice’

The critical care unit is recognised for advanced training in ICM and boasts an active Critical Care Research Department with two Professorial posts, an NIHR Senior Lecturer and a team of research nurses. The department is currently involved in several multicentre studies. Training in a range of special skills including Research, Quality Improvement and FICE & CUSIC may also be available.
