Streamlining of the entire export process

What you'll need to succeed

Experience in a cold storage environment (ideally food)
Strong knowledge of export processes and documents
A proven track record of process improvement
Team management experience
Ability to work collaboratively with staff across the site
Strong understanding of the needs around temperature-sensitive freight along with export laws

The role
As an Automotive Team Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. As Team Manager of the Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Workshop you'll be supporting, developing and coaching a team of Vehicle Mechanics who work on a wide range of Military Fleet Vehicles.

Day-to-day, you'll effectively manage and deliver planning of resources to achieve and exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), coaching members of the Vehicle Mechanic team on ways of working, collaborating closely with senior management, achieving conformance to plan targets and maintaining stock control:

• Owning and delivering operational excellence initiatives including (but not limited to) Target Quality Standards, data management and quality, implementation and sustainment of 5S practices (a five-step methodology for creating a more organised and productive workspace to result in continuous improvement)
• Engaging, coordinating, submitting requests and escalating issues affecting section(s) that have a dependency on another supporting departments; requests including materials and parts for the fleet
• Creation of reports and information packs as required, to highlight performance, opportunities/risks and compliance
• Analysing data from key systems to identify progress, trends and risk/issues in order to support decision making

Essential experience of the Automotive Team Manager:

• Experience in Lean and Six Sigma principles
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to resolve conflicts
• Experience with using Microsoft Office, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel
• Experience of working with data and reporting tools

This is a full-time role, based on site at DSG Catterick site, North Yorkshire

Qualifications for the Automotive Team Manager:

• Must hold minimum Level 2 NVQ in Vehicle Repair

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.

We are seeking a Whyalla based Transport Manager to compliment our existing management team.

The company operates a fleet of 25 buses ranging in size from 14 seat Toyota Commuters to 57 seat Coaches. Employing some 35 drivers, which operates seven days per week. Along with a small fleet of 15 taxis supported by some 25 drivers who support our 24/7 taxi service to the Whyalla community.

Reporting directly to the Regional General Manager the purpose of this position is to:

Ensure the smooth running of the Whyalla fleet operations.
Manage the Driver rosters.
Enforce and maintain the high standards set by the company and regulatory bodies.
Offer leadership, guidance and support wherever needed.
Liaise with & build good working relationships with the Call Centre, colleagues & drivers.
Coordinate vehicle maintenance in conjunction with the Workshop Manager.
Manage vehicle accidents and breakdowns.
Monitor, assess and plan driver recruitment, training and inductions.
Assist with the handling and resolution of complaints.
Maintain and improve on fleet and operational KPI's.
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes:

Good people skills with a hands on approach to all aspects of the job.

Fleet and/or people management experience desired but not essential.
An eye for detail.
