The current solution provided by its new commercial vendor is adequate but could not address specific issues faced by SIA, including the price elasticity estimation, dynamic pricing and competition considerations etc. These are all unique to SIA and customized solution methodology needs to be developed for these purposes. The Research Engineer will be responsible for

Job Description

One Research Engineer position is open in the research group of Assistant Professor Zhao Lin, at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).

The Research Engineer (will) will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) on reinforcement learning control and learning-based control, which leverage the advantages of both deep learning and conventional controls with theoretical guarantees. The RE will develop AI-assisted planning and control algorithms that enable intelligent and robust autonomous operations and multi-agent collaborations. Hardware experiments will be carried out to test and demonstrate the applications of the developed algorithms.

The initial appointment duration is 12 months, which can then be extended based on an evaluation at the end of the initial appointment.

The research project involves (1) theoretical research in control, learning, and optimization, (2) developing new control and learning algorithms, and (3) 3D Simulations and real hardware experiments.

The candidates should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a reputable university, with expertise in control theory, reinforcement learning theory, and aerial robotics.

A successful candidate should have a solid mathematical background (such as in calculus, linear algebra, ODE/PDE, optimization, real analysis, probability theory, stochastic process, etc). Job Description

This position involves working on a project related to legged robot and their application for port operations. The objective of this position includes contributing to the model development, solution and implementation of bio-inspired locomotion, climbing, and manipulation controllers on a hexapedal platform. The role involves the opportunity to work with the research team within National University of Singapore in which the team leaders are from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, alongside Specialists from a high technology company.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated with an outstanding track record in robotics, control, computer science, or related disciplines. The main research tasks for the project include but will not be limited to:

• Developing robust controllers for legged locomotion, pick-and-place motions, and mobile manipulation.

• Designing and implementing controllers on hardware to obtain a laboratory-level prototype system

Qualifications

• Good Coding skills in python

• Experience with implementation of legged locomotion/manipulation controllers on hardware

• Literature review/summarizing skills

• Simulations abilities (ROS/Gazebo, PyBullet)

• Good writing/spoken communication skills
