Summary:

Assists with the daily operations of the Resource Center and the Elevate Salon. Trains and supervises the Resource Center and Elevate Salon volunteers. Identifies, develops and updates patient education materials in the Resource Center in cooperation with the Concierge Services Department and Patient Education Department. Educates patients and family members on cancer information and provides support, compassion and access to reliable resources. Assists the Patient Experience and Concierge Departments with the development and implementation of institute-wide educational and Quality of Life grant funded programs, which may include patient outreach and support as well as other basic cancer information. The pay range for this position is $46,649 -$59,159 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in a health-related field, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Human Development, Education, Communications or a related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in a health or education related field; or
2. Associate’s degree in a health-related field, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Human Development, Education, Communications or a related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience in a health or education related field.

NOTE: Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

• Follows good radiation safety practices; i.e. coning, shielding, quarterly dosimeter monitoring, according to state and federal guidelines.   

• Positions patients, provides immobilizations devices and selects proper technical factors on patients to obtain quality imaging. Explains x-ray exam/procedure to patients and answers any questions. Uses radiopaque anatomical side markers with technologist identifier on every image performed. 

• Operates highly specialized equipment, including radiographic CR (computed Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), and PACS (Picture Archive Communication System).  

• Ensures that imaging equipment is in good working condition and reports equipment malfunctions and maintenance such as calibrations, care, and cleaning. Know and practice downtime procedures. This includes maintenance and testing of shields, display monitors, tube, detector and calibration for all.  

• Reviews patient orders and completes exam/procedure in EMR and PACS system for successful dictation. 

• Provides patient imaging on a CD when requested; ensuring necessary paperwork is completed. Imports CDs into the PACS system when requested.

• Serves as a liaison between Ordering Providers and Radiologists and assists Providers with Radiology related questions.

• Orders x-ray supplies and maintains PPE by performing bi-annual lead apron checks. 

• Complies with network drills, CPR requirements, license renewal, CEUs and other network or health system requirements.

• Serves as preceptor to radiology students and new radiology staff members.

• Recognize and notify appropriate personnel of adverse events or incidents (i.e. falls, vasovagal, wrong patient imaged, wrong laterality, etc.)

About the job:

HR Administration

• Expert and skilled end user for Workday and other HR systems and tools
• Manage transaction workflows in the assigned region
• Respond to all employee verification requests and employment reference letters, etc.
• Identify process improvement opportunities focused and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Region or GBS Center, as well as sharing best practices with HR operations teams in other GBS Centers as appropriate.
• Recommend process improvements to drive efficiencies, knowledge, and consistencies in our procedures.
• Role may expand to include responsibilities for administration of additional HR processes

Inquiry Management

• First-line support of employees, managers, and executives for all general HR questions, seeking support in HR policies, processes, self-service transactions, and HR content on the online portal.
• Processes basic to complex HR and benefits transactions and supports the auditing of information
• Document calls and code as appropriate for reporting purposes
• End-to-end ownership for resolving inquiries, as well as for helping employees and managers learn about self-service capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibility:

• In charge of day-to-day general office administration, answering phone calls, redirecting phone calls, and emails.
• In charge of on boarding processing, off boarding processing, course registration, tracking & record of attendance & monitor discipline issues.
