The Associate Brand Manager (ABM) is responsible for supporting the creation, execution, and evaluation of innovative and effective brand-building, marketing, advertising, and promotional programs and will have full ownership of their implementation while owning selected projects from start to finish.
What You Can Expect
Ownership of key projects and marketing activities across the portfolio:
Planning
Support the delivery of the Strategy & Insights process and its outcomes: the development of innovative and exciting brand activations that deliver against strategic imperatives. Support preparation of annual brand business plan presentations. Support or lead the delivery of media & creative, packaging, and event collaterals in collaboration with partner agencies.
Packaging
Support the delivery of all relevant packaging changes, liaising with Global team, Supply Chain, Customer Marketing and Commercial teams to ensure flawless execution and transition in market.
Gifting
Manage the brands’ gifting strategy and pipeline, in collaboration with commercial teams, customer marketing, supply chain, and finance team.
Events & Sponsorships:
Lead the implementation of sponsorships, events, and partnerships programs and any associated amplification plans. In charge of leading internal branded events and communications for the brand incl. brand inductions.
Brand Guardian
Be a brand guardian ensuring brands are presented in a premium and consistent ‘on-brand’ way, ensuring all approvals are obtained. Initiate and maintain close, consistent communication with internal and external agencies. Be a key point of contact for Customer Marketing teams.
Projects
Manage key brand-related projects to ensure timely delivery to market within budget.
Business Performance & Management:
Monthly brand performance review including competitive set, and sales data. A&P management: appropriately maintaining A&P budget at all times updated, reflecting the latest status. On-going post evaluations of brand activities, so learnings can be integrated into the planning cycle and help deliver a continuous improvement on marketing spend efficiency.
What You Bring to the Table
At least 4 years of brand marketing experience, client or agency side in a consumer goods environment
Demonstrated understanding of business operations and ability to apply strong analytical thinking
Demonstrated excellence in building relationships and communicating effectively with a variety of stakeholders at all levels of an organization
Demonstrated ability to navigate complex and ambiguous situations with agility and a measure of independence
Passion and love for consumer brand marketing
Strong technical skills, especially in creating compelling presentations and other content using Google Slides

Your Role
You will be responsible for the insertion of our solution portfolio and growth of our business by winning transformational business opportunities across communication service provider customers in our ANZ region with particular focus on our most strategic tier 1 customers in the territory. You will establish and nurture key business relationships at all levels and particularly with C-suite stakeholders and carry a sales target which will be retired through your personal sales success and ability to win deals. You will work closely with fulfilment partners where necessary and consult with our mainstream Ciena account team but drive your own sales and engagement strategy to ensure the integrity of the Blue Planet brand is maintained and recognized as a value-based brand to deliver vendor neutral, multi-domain and multi-layer automated service operations to the telco service provider. You will report to the head of the Blue Planet sales & business development team for the international sales region and manage a dispersed virtual team of contributors to secure your objectives. This role involves extensive travel both to customer premises and other Ciena locations at sometimes short notice.

+ 5 years of experience implementing applications and solutions with microservices, REST web services and Web APIs
Experience with Microservices, Functions, Event-driven/reactive programming or other Cloud Native architectures
Demonstrated experience with API design standards, patterns, and frameworks (e.g., REST, GraphQL, OpenAPI, OAuth).
Experience in automated unit testing, performance tuning, and end-to-end testing
