The field of sensory science plays a vital role in understanding consumer perceptions and preferences, making it imperative to streamline data management and analysis processes. Sensory science involves the systematic study of human perceptions of various stimuli, contributing significantly to product development, quality control, and marketing strategies.
The objective of your role is to contribute to the productivity and the continuous support for the sensory science lab in our business. You are expected to conduct daily sample preparations, continuous organization of the sensory science sessions for the human sensory panel and also to make sure that the data collected is reviewed and analyzed properly. Your work will support the continuous productivity of the sensory science lab to the business clients and will bring meaningful insights to the client business decision making process.
Crucial elements for the prosperous execution of this project is to be committed, to be enthusiastic about understanding the general lab work processes of the sample preparation within the sensory science laboratory and to be able to work with the other technicians on execution of the sensory science panel sessions.
The Sensory Science Lab at Dow conducts weekly tests to determine the impact of the products on the consumer’s sensory system. The tests require panel members to taste and to rate against a reference sample and different dilutions of the two different basic tastes. Based on the rating analysis, we the Sensory Science Lab, can track the performance of panel members.
