Your new role
The Import Manager will have overall responsibility for the import, export and shipping activity on behalf of the business, and will advise on supply chain operations in both domestic and international markets. You will be the main point of contact for stakeholders including HMRC, suppliers, and freight forwarders. You'll manage the customs compliance framework process, and you'll conduct compliance audits and investigations. The Import Manager will manage the team and ensure that shipments run smoothly, and you will liaise with warehouse managers to ensure that there is sufficient capacity, as well as looking at forecasts and future deliveries. Taking a more proactive approach, you will analyse the company's freight costs and will benchmark freight tenders for import/export operations and courier shipments.

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience working as an Import Manager (please note, this is not a 'step-up' role, the company requires experience at the managerial level already)
• Ability to plan and carry out international operations such as cross-trade shipments and EU export cargo to end customer efficiently and professionally.
• Understanding of the warehousing process and warehouse management systems.
• Detailed knowledge of customs authorisations and processes such as AEO, CFSP, Customs Warehousing, NES and NCTS.
• Knowledge of running Customs Freight Simplified Procedures (CFSP) on a Duty Management System software
• Perform shipping operations and customs procedures compliant with HMRC Framework.
• Excellent leadership skills of managing a team

• Minimum of four (4) years in a contract reviewer/negotiator role, preferably with a focus on procurement or supply chain operations

What will I do in this position if hired? 

In this position, you will serve as an Assistant Distribution Center Manager ensuring the effective prevision of FEMA emergency teams. Typical assignments include:

• Planning, coordinating and evaluating logistical actions required to support the mission.
• Providing oversight and management of full-service logistics support operations to include property and facility management, inventory management, property acquisition and disposal, physical receipt, custody and distribution of materials, and equipment maintenance on equipment such as emergency generators, vehicles, etc.

Serves as a Section Manager in the Aircraft Certification Service (AIR), Program Management Section (AIR-321) division. Directly supervises multiple employees engaged in mainly technical, specialized, and engineering work. Applies detailed technical knowledge of practices, principles, theories, concepts, methods, techniques in general inspection, investigation and/or compliance as they apply to Aircraft Certification. Also applies a thorough understanding of the principles of management and strategic planning to integrate the work of multiple projects and work assignments to accomplish the mission objectives. Monitors and assesses the operational performance of AIR to reduce risk to the National Airspace and integrate quality and safety in AIR operations.
