A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Security Support Officer to join our team, on an Ad Hoc basis, working within our Warehouse and Distribution depots, supporting our exisiting clients. You must be able to demonstrate and deliver high quality guarding and excellent customer service to both our clients and service users.

As a Security Officer for Logistics Security your role will consist of various duties including but not limited to:

• Conduct regular and randomised searches on any staff or visitors within the site.
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols of the site.
• Ensure that any goods vehicles (deliveries or collections) entering or leaving the site are logged accurately on the relevant PC System
• Maintain a close liaison with Site contacts, other colleagues, CCTV Controllers and the National Security Manager in relation to any incidents.
• To help support the reduction in accidents and H&S breaches and minimise the risks to employees and visitors.
• Monitor, operate and communicate using all forms of equipment (Phones, intercoms, radios, email)
• Assist in site evacuations by following the procedures outlined in the Fire Evacuation Plan
• Always maintain strict Data Protection (GDPR) standards, adhering to the policies and procedures put in place in relation to monitoring, recording, extracting, and sharing of information
• To carry out, where possible, reasonable instructions issued by the site management team.

• SIA Licence (SG/DS) required.

Security Officer

To ensure a safe environment for the hotel staff and guests and protect the assets of the hotel. 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• To establish chain of command and responsibility, the Security Officer shall be held directly responsible to the Shift Duty Security Supervisor, Assistant Operations Manager, Security Manager.
• Perform duties according to the Duty Roster prepared by the Director of Security or in his absence, the Assistant Director of Security.  The Security Officer may be deployed at any of the following Duty Posts as enumerated thereafter:
  • Security Control Room Duty;
  • Lobby Duty;
  • Loading Bay;
  • Patrolling or Observation Duty;
  • Back of House;
  • VIP Parking;
  • Or at any position where operations in Security field will benefit.
• When on duty, the Security Officer shall adopt the “Service Oriented” approach in discharging of its duties in order to functions harmoniously with the concept of the Hotel as a place of hospitality
  • To exercise flexibility to maintain a balance between effectiveness and unobstructiveness;
  • To promote the “gentlemen” rather the “officer” image for the security service;
  • To act for and on behalf of the Hotelkeeper on security matters;
  • To protect the safety of guests, staff, their properties and those belonging to the Hotel;
  • Assisting other Department in rendering services to the customers so as to maintain or enhance the services provided other than his primary security duties;
  • To act as a host of the hotel by personally welcoming arriving guests and bidding farewell to departing guests;

  • To lead guests whenever possible if they are uncertain of the location within the Hotel premises;
  • To inform and sell other hotel facilities to all visitors of the Hotel.
• Protect the hotel guests and keep the peace by
  • Monitoring any undesirable elements to ensure that they do not harass, harm or embarrass the hotel guests;
  • Take appropriate action to defuse any outbreak of violence or commotion within the Hotel premises;
  • Intelligence gathering, from within and without the hotel of the identities and activities (modus operandi) of undesirable elements.
• Surveillance of hotel staff
  • Ensuring that they abide by the House Rules;
  • Keeping tag on movements of staff who are classified as suspects under investigations.
• Cultivation of Informers with the intention of obtaining information of security interest that may be of immediate or future use to the Department for prevention and detection purposes.
• Keeping peace and order within the premises of the Hotel in dealing with criminals, trespassers or difficult characters.
• Participating in special functions or operations conducted or organized by the Hotel for VVIPS, shows, etc., and private organization or individual having official business connected with the Hotel.
• Keeping the Duty Shift Security Supervisor, Assistant Operations Manager, Assistant Director and Director of Security constantly posted on all matters of security interest affecting the Hotel and the Department.
• Conduction regular and periodical checks and taking immediate follow-up action to rectify faults, damage, etc., detailed in the following:
  • “Perimeter defence” – All fire exit doors, link doors, etc., leading INTO or OUT of the Hotel and which are fitted with locking devices or alarm systems to ensure that they are in good working condition as an effective measure against trespassers and pilferage;
  • Security CCTV equipment – Inspecting the CCTV Operations Room to ensure that all equipment is in working order and all cameras are correctly focused.

As a Security Officer at Sodexo in Diageo, Whitehouse Ind.Estate, Runcorn, Cheshire, WA7 3BE, you'll ensure the safety of our customers, staff, their buildings and assets. What you’ll do:

• Greet staff and visitors and ensure they adhere to the required security protocols

• Monitoring of CCTV, Access Control and other protective systems 

• Act as a first line response to activations & incidents or fault reporting 

• Log and transfer calls, relay messages and provide guidance and advice to visitors, clients, contractors and staff

• To carry out regular patrols throughout the shift

What you bring:

• A valid SIA Licence

• Ability to interact with employees, contractors, consultants, visitors, and management as well as local police and fire authorities 

• Excellent communication and awareness skills

• Experience in working in a similar role

• Knowledge of security techniques and site and local emergency procedures

Your role involves:

• Monitoring the evolving threat landscape and remediate incidents and take action on incident alerts. Ensuring thorough incident investigation following the Incident Response (IR) plan. This is with support from the Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) to deliver 24/7 monitoring and incident response services, ensuring timely resolution of incidents.
• Conducting threat simulations to detect early indicators of compromise and collaborate with the Solutions team to address identified gaps in security measures.
• Proactively engaging in threat hunting activities upon receipt of indicators from threat intelligence sources to maintain a secure environment free from vulnerabilities.
• Overseeing the continuous management of vulnerabilities, collaborating with the patch management team to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed within acceptable thresholds.
• Ensuring the deployment of appropriate security technologies to effectively mitigate threats.
• Leading , drive and manage new cybersecurity program and initiatives
• Partnering with internal and external team in planning and delivery, and in executing assessments, improvements and roadmaps.

Skills and experience required

As a successful applicant, you will have at least 5 years of experience in Cyber Security. Exposure to incident response, SIEM, Threat Monitoring or Threat hunting is required for this role.

Experienced in cloud security will be of added advantage.

What Will You Do?

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Security Specialist to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the security, integrity, and compliance of our cloud-based systems and applications. As a Cloud Security Specialist, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust security measures that protect our organisation's assets and data in cloud environments.

• Cloud Security Strategy: Develop, implement, and maintain an effective cloud security strategy and architectures that adhere to best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Security Architecture: Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement common cloud security architectures, ensuring principles of least privilege, zero trust, defense in depth, and security by design.

• Infrastructure Security: Implement and manage security controls for cloud infrastructure components, including networks, virtual machines, containers, and serverless services. Apply security groups, network segmentation, and encryption to safeguard data in transit and at rest.

• Identity and Access Management (IAM): Design and enforce robust IAM policies to manage user access, authentication, authorisation, and privilege escalation within cloud environments.

• Security Monitoring and Incident Response: Set up and manage continuous security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response processes for cloud environments. Respond to security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.

• Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify and remediate security weaknesses. Know how to apply patches and updates in a timely manner.

• Security Compliance: Ensure and assess cloud environments adhere to relevant government ICT/SS compliance frameworks and regulations.

• Security Automation: Build and maintain security automation scripts and tools to streamline security processes such as provisioning, configuration management, and incident response.

You will be a Great Fit if you:

• Have experience (2+ years) in designing, implementing, and managing security solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).

• Understand cloud security principles, including network security, encryption, identity and access management, and security monitoring.

• Are proficient in security tools such as intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, network firewalls, and web application firewalls.

• Have implemented security best practices within Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) to ensure secure infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.

Good to Have:

• Relevant professional certifications such as Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), AWS Certified Security – Specialty, or equivalent.

• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for security automation and orchestration.

• Experience in using containerisation technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, and knowledge in securing containers.

• Proficiency in implementing DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines, with experience in relevant CI technologies such as Git, Gitlab, and Jenkins. Hands-on experience with security testing tools (e.g., SAST, DAST, SCA) and vulnerability management.

Successful candidates will be offered a 1+1 year contract in the first instance. Conversion to perm is dependent on good performance.
