  • >5 to 10 Years proven experience in Sales & Marketing is preferred.​ Prior knowledge in end to end network, application and clouds security will be added advantage

  • Relevant experience with resellers would be an added advantage.

The Security Officer is responsible to perform protective, preventative, safety and security related informant functions to ensure the safety and well-being of customers, visitors, and staff. They will implement and monitor all security operations in accordance with all applicable laws and company policies in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances and threats.

• Responsible for observing and reporting all activity occurring in their assigned area

HMPPS (HM Prison and Probation Service) is the MOJ (Ministry of Justice) agency that carries out sentences given by the courts, rehabilitating people in their care through education and employment.

Hays are the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades and support staff. In this role, you will be working for HMPPS as a Prison Security Escort at HMP Kirklevington Grange.
Positions are due to start in January 2024

Your new role
You will be responsible for:

• Documentation of Contractors tools and equipment
• Escorting Contractors to their area of work ensuring all security gates/doors and locked accordingly
• Ensuring the safe keeping of the Contractors and their tools and equipment whilst work is being carried out
• Escorting Contractors back to the main gate of the prison ensuring all security gates/doors are locked accordingly
• Documentation of Contractors tools and equipment upon leaving the establishment to ensure nothing has been misplaced.

You will be flexibly deployed to provide a range of other support service activities within operational areas of an establishment when required. This is an operational support job with no line management responsibilities.

You do not require any previous experience or qualifications for this role. You just need to be security conscious, able to challenge potential compromises of risk, and be reliable. Please note this role does not require you to drive.

The roles are mobile covering a geographical area around London, defined by a 10 mile radius of your base location. You don't need to drive, but you will need to make sure that you can get yourself to all those different locations, as you will be regularly covering shifts. Travel expenses and parking will be paid back to you and are processed three times per month.

There is no weekend or night work, but we can sometimes offer overtime on a Saturday, Sunday, and Bank holidays or as and when required. The weekends will be paid at a generous rate of 1.5x for Saturdays and 2x for Sundays, alongside a rate of 1.25x for weekday overtime outside of court operating times.
