The Neurosciences Service Line at Spectrum Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our growing Neurosurgery APP team. As West Michigan’s leading neuroscience referral center, and one of the largest providers of adult neuroscience services in the state, the Neurosurgery department functions within our multidisciplinary team to provide quality care, research, and education within the clinical neurosciences.
This position, in partnership with our Neurosurgery NP's and Neurosurgery Residents, will work mainly in the inpatient setting with plans to expand to the outpatient setting as the team grows. New APP's can expect a 4-6 month training process led by our experienced senior APP's. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently after appropriate training & demonstrate excellent clinical acumen. This position plays an integral role in the Neurosurgery team and works collaboratively & cohesively with our Neurosurgery physicians. We are excited to expand this team to 12 dedicated Neurosurgery APP's to provide optimal shift coverage.

Scope of work
Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider. Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.

4 Center OB Special Care is a specialty within the world of Obstetrics care. 4 Center providers expert individualized care for patients with high-risk pregnancies and pregnancy- related conditions, as well as postpartum care. Our most common diagnosis includes premature rupture of membranes, preterm labor or contractions, preeclampsia/hypertension, cervical shortening, vaginal bleeding, hyperemesis, and diabetes care. Corewell Health West's Women's Health Department is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants or Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM) to join our growing team at Corewell Health Butterworth’s OB Triage unit/Core Faculty Team. We have added hours and are now recruiting for a .9 FTE, which is considered full time for benefits. Our 11-bed triage unit provides excellent basic and emergent obstetric care to patients >20 weeks within one of the busiest obstetric units in the country. Our APP run unit allows independent assessment and treatment with a safety net of inpatient physicians nearby.
Qualified Candidate Must Have:
Responsible for managing patients and coordinating the services provided by multiple disciplines within and outside the health system. This is a Weekends Only role. Its full time and consists of two 12-hour shifts on the weekend and one additional shift during the week. RNs will receive an additional $10 per hour plus their base pay. The $10 per hour will only be applied to the weekend shifts the RN works. If the RN is a full-time (3)12s a week RN, the stipend will apply to the two shifts on the weekend and not on the third weekday shift. This $10 per hour will be combined with shift differentials as well as other special codes. RNs will be required to work 48 out of 52 weekends per calendar year. Weekends are defined as Friday and Saturday night for night shift. RNs can request up to 48 hours of PTO on their weekend shifts as well as 48 hours of exchanging a weekend shift for a weekday shift, for a total of 96 hours ‘off’ of the weekend requirement. This would be given in accordance with unit guidelines with allotted PTO as well as peak times, etc. RNs may request 1 holiday off per calendar year that falls on the weekend. The RN would only work the holiday if it fell on the weekend, they will not be moved off a weekend to work on a holiday.

About the unit
The Neurodiagnostic team is comprised of EEG Technologists, EEG Technicians and Neurodiagnostic Assistants. These individuals work together to set up patients with appropriate equipment, allowing for monitoring and recording of electrical activity of a patient’s brain waves. This in turn allows us to provide physicians proof of any brain abnormalities. The team provides support for Butterworth, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, Blodgett, 25 Michigan and 35 Michigan.

This is a benefit-eligible position, plus:
$15/HR Starting Pay + $1/HR Premium Pay + $2/HR Premium Pay
Pay premium is temporary until 12.31.2023 at which time it will be re-evaluated.
$1000 Sign On Bonus:

Job Summary
Cleans and disinfects assigned work area according to department procedures. Removes medical waste, trash and linens. Performs the interim and restorative maintenance of the health system's hard floor, carpets and upholstery according to procedures. Fully functioning in one area of responsibility.
Essential Functions
Responsible for the cleaning, disinfecting and stocking of patient rooms, offices and ancillary areas according to established procedures. Responsible for the removal and disposal of linens and waste streams.
Performs interim and restorative maintenance to hard floor, carpets and upholstery according to procedures.
Assembles, maintains and stores equipment/supplies that are necessary to complete tasks according to department standards.
Communicates and collaborates with other members of the team to ensure continuity and coordination of services. Reports general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in work area.
Assists visitors and employees in navigating through the hospital to reach their destination.
Fully functioning within one cleaning area.
May be expected to work across department sites for coverage and business need.
Qualifications
Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred public service and or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial experience
