About the Role

Temporary Administrative & Operations Assistant (6-month contract)

This is key role within the Technology Division that execute, manage administrative support and implement business support activities on a day-to-day basis in alignment with the corporate guidelines.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsible for administrative tasks to upkeep the office premises and facilities
• Manage and implement adequate Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) and Security measures
• Manage office facilities, including seating plans, office renovation, and asset disposals
• Process and manage travel-related matters
• Process requisitions and keep stock for office supplies and inventories
• Assist in staff on/offboarding & orientation within the division
• Provide general clerical support including mailing & scanning and errands to facilitate the division’s deliveries
• Coordinate training/workshops/events logistics
• Demonstrate ability to work effectively both independently and with various stakeholders to support daily administrative/operations matters
• Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Possess at least a Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Business Studies/Administrative/Management or equivalent
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience
• Preferably junior executive specialised in clerical/administrative support or equivalent
• Preferably proficient in Microsoft Office & Google G Suite
• Meticulous, good interpersonal skills, and resourceful
• A good team player and ability to work independently in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment with minimum supervision

About the role

Singapore's premier business daily, The Business Times, is looking for a talented, driven and digitally-savvy candidate to oversee our hourly and daily coverage of market-moving developments across a range of business and financial news topics, cutting across different companies, sectors and geographies.

The ideal candidate should have a track record in business journalism and experience in leading a group of reporters, including assigning and editing copy across a wide range of topics, story types and formats.

Key responsibilities:

• Identify critical news developments and trending stories that are relevant to BT’s audience.
• Manage a team of reporters and edit their stories, where necessary, to ensure the content is accurate, engaging, comprehensive, of high quality and published in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with the News Editor and Deputy News Editors on story development and evergreen content production. You may be required to make quick editorial decisions.
• Ensure that all content is optimised for SEO and social media.
• Collaborate with reporters and other members of the editorial team to ensure that all stories are effectively curated, edited and promoted.

Requirements:

Job Role and Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Sports Editor, you will be required to work with the sports team to curate and manage content for online, the newspaper and social media.

The job requires you to work closely with the reporters on the team to conceptualise and shape stories (news, features, interactives) for the section.

You will also identify foreign wires stories for the sports section and pages, and work with a team of copytasters, designers and sub-editors to curate content for both online and the newspaper. This will include story packages and interactives on foreign and Singapore sports.

A keen interest and knowledge in sport, both local and foreign, is required and experience in the sports industry will be a plus. The successful candidate should have the ability to spot a good story and work with the team to deliver it to our readers/viewers via the different platforms.

Job Requirements

• Good understanding of audience segmentation analytics and come up with ways to apply them to daily work, and keep abreast of the best industry trends and practices
• Deliver in-depth reports on performance, audience growth, with proposals for implementable next steps
• You will be expected to use the CMS to set up, make changes and deploy newsletter titles on your own
