JOB SUMMARY
The Graphic & Media Design program at Marymount University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Practice position (a nine-month academic year appointment) to teach undergraduate courses in Graphic & Media Design. The faculty will be required to teach three (3) courses in the Fall 2024 semester and three (3) courses in the Spring 2025 semester, along with responsibilities to the program and the school as determined by the School Director at the time of hiring. Faculty are expected to be engaged members of their programs and their schools. The position may be extended for the next academic year.

The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University seeks experienced professionals to teach one or more classes in our journalism, advertising and/or public relations programs starting in the 2024 fall semester. We are looking for candidates with professional experience in any of the following: social media strategy and analytics, advertising and strategic communications, data-driven content and strategy, interactive and immersive media, search engine optimization, or artificial intelligence.

Its students undertake industry immersion through its compulsory internship programme. Successful candidates for these positions will join an engaging community of 32 full-time faculty and approximately 800 undergraduate and graduate students.
We seek applicants with expertise in one or more of the following areas: interactive writing; data journalism; digital/transmedia storytelling; media production; corporate communication; public relations; campaign management; social media PR; public relations writing; user experience design; media policy; public speaking; digital storytelling; interactive media design; digital/social media for strategic communication; basic chemistry and biology; game design; cultural studies; interdisciplinary topics like basic chemistry, biology, physiological medicine, etc; R or Python programming is highly desirable.
The selected candidates are required to instruct a total of five (5) courses each academic year. Teaching responsibilities will be within the Communications and New Media undergraduate program and/or Master by Coursework programs. Successful candidates must have good Honours degrees in communications or a closely affiliated discipline, skills and expertise in the relevant field by the appointment of start date. A genuine enthusiasm for working closely with students and a dedicated commitment to fostering student learning are indispensable qualities. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Meticulous attention to detail. Proficient in computer applications such as MS Office and PowerPoint.
