JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Abington invites applications for a Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor in Communication/Media Studies to start August 2024. This is a full-time (36-week), limited-term (1 year) position with the possibility of renewal.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will teach four assigned courses (12 credits) each semester using traditional, hybrid, and/or fully online delivery modes; advise and provide career guidance to students; and participate in program, campus, university, and community service activities.
Qualifications: A master’s degree or PhD in communication studies, media studies, or a closely related area is required by the appointment start date. An ideal candidate will have a teaching and applied experience in various areas of media/news production or podcasting; a reputation as a collaborative colleague; and a strong record of working effectively with students from diverse backgrounds, including those with varying levels of academic preparation.
