The team builds and nurtures partnerships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, government agencies, corporate sponsors, and community organisations, to enhance service delivery, raise awareness, and secure resources for the hospices. KEY TASKS Reports and Funding To lead on monitoring and reporting on the funding status of CDS UKs patients, keeping CDS UKs core team updated regularly, including alerting relevant case managers where funding is due to come to an end. To develop positive working relationships with commissioners, both informing them of current patient progress and identifying areas for service improvement. To review when clinical progress reports are due to be sent to commissioners and other relevant parties, working to create a reporting schedule which, where appropriate, correlates with timescales for the renewal of funding, and alerting case managers when reports are becoming due or are overdue. Referral and Assessments To answer queries from potential patients, referrers and commissioners, as well as CDS UK staff. To work with a designated clinician to assess an agreed caseload of incoming referrals and agree next steps, and to maintain contact with referrers, commissioners and patients throughout the process. To draft funding submissions and seek funding authorisation for assessments, maintaining accurate detailed records on progress. To monitor performance against the standard operating procedure for this area and associated targets, drawing issues to the attention of the Director of Business & Operations, clinicians involved in referrals, and other members of the core team where appropriate. As our Research Strategy and Governance Manager, you'll join a senior team that is responsible for delivering high-quality research and analysis, and for developing the wider council's research capability. Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented Project Manager to join our Project Delivery Group. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading and managing medium-scale projects within the Tritium Fuel Cycle division, ensuring delivery to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage project(s) with budgets of up to approximately £10M, overseeing all aspects of project execution.
* Maintain oversight of projects, including estimate collation, planning, cost forecasting, and monitoring.
* Effectively deploy project resources, defining roles, responsibilities, and task sequencing.
* Evaluate and present decisions to secure project benefits, leading the identification of creative solutions to overcome obstacles.
* Collaborate with Project Sponsor to develop Project Management Plans and define project milestones and deliverables.
* Ensure effective communication within the project team and with stakeholders, reporting progress against milestones and key performance indicators.
* Manage project document development in compliance with UKAEA's Quality Assurance requirements.
* Promote a culture of safety, health, environmental, and quality practices aligned with UKAEA requirements.
* Liaise with other departments to ensure effective coordination and collaboration across interfaces.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Chartered status in a relevant STEM discipline.
* Proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects within budget, time, and cost constraints.
* Passion for good project management practices and safety culture.
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to make sound economic decisions.
* Background knowledge and understanding of fusion science and/or technology and engineering.
* Excellent communication, influencing, and collaboration skills.
Required Professional Qualifications:
* APM Project Management Qualification.
* APM Practitioner Qualification.
* Prince 2 Practitioner.
* Agile Project Management Practitioner.

The Role

Objectives

Principal duties
General Management

Understand the legal requirements of relevant legislation and ensure the department complies; sharing best practice with other team members appropriately
Have a full understanding and working knowledge of all Shaw healthcare policies and procedures and ensure that all these policies are applied at all times
Ensure the security and confidentially of records and information relating to the department.

Practice Expectations
New Business

Keep the organisation up to date on best practice, innovation and developments in the sector
Lead in preparation of Opportunity Evaluations with a full assessment of risks and opportunities
Lead in preparation and writing of tenders and framework applications
Lead tender interviews and presentations
Be accountable for the maintenance of the Tender Tracker of future, current and past opportunities
Be accountable for the maintenance of the database of contacts of Stakeholders including Directors of CCGs, Health Boards, specialist commissioners Local Authorities, Housing Associations, and Construction Companies
Research new business opportunities and initiatives and liaise with the Commercial and Development Team on potential business and project acquisitions
Attend market engagement events and feedback risks and opportunities to the wider team
Be accountable for the maintenance of the Bid Library and analyse results and lead reviews
Create comprehensive proposals and detailed project plans, with success criteria / outcomes
Evaluate scores and results to feed into plans for future bids.

Existing Business

Support the Contracts Officer in the contracts process
Ensure expiring contracts are reviewed and planned for with key departments aware of dates
Provide commercial support on service redesign
Be accountable for the market research to inform the development of business cases.

Marketing and Promotion

Support the team to promote the organisation and increase the customer base
Lead in the growth and development of the business, through the support of various marketing exercises and work with the wider team
Promote the work of the organisation by attending and taking part in conferences and events that will offer opportunities for networking
Prepare information and content for presentations.

Essential Criteria

Minimum of Degree Level Qualification or equivalent experience
Bid writing experience gained in relevant business development setting
Experience gained in a range of health and social care settings
Ability to prioritise work in an environment which has conflicting pressures and demands
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to engage well with commissioners, partners, colleagues and other stakeholders
IT literate, including the use of basic range of software packages

Desirable Criteria

Additional, relevant qualifications in particular Project Management
Experience of effective management of resources and relationships
Valid driving license and use of own car for work purposes

What you’ll be doing…

You will:


- Drive the delivery of contract activities, ensuring they are safe, timely, and within budget, meeting business and technical requirements. Monitor progress against milestones, deadlines, and budget, providing key stakeholders with insightful reports.
- Anticipate, manage, and resolve issues within your contract or package, identifying risks, facilitating resolutions, and updating the program budget.
- Ensure the development and maintenance of schedules for the contract or package, aligning them with overall project schedules. Escalate discrepancies to the Project Controls Director.
- Guarantee the delivery of Contractual Milestones and List of Deliverables (LOD) related to the scope of work.
- Apply the principles of Earned Value Management (EVM) and champion Continuous Improvement principles.
- Cultivate a culture of lessons learned and knowledge capture as part of our everyday business practices.
- Interface with other programs to ensure a high-level view of the total project's progress and identify opportunities for adopting best practices.
- Assure the fulfilment of contractual requirements within your assigned contract or package.

Who you are…

In this role, we’re looking for you to demonstrate a track record of delivering projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.

With this, your management of developing engineering design, contract and field execution strategies for project delivery, Multi-discipline EPCM projects, Procurement and management of complex contracts, Control of costs / risks will be paramount in this role. Other requirements for this role also include:


- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Leadership and its application in complex projects. This, in turn, should link with holding excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.
- Experience of successfully engaging groups of stakeholders.
- Able to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation. Proficient in the use of estimating scheduling, programming and risk tools.
- Experience of managing contractors, consultants and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects, in a regulated environment. Including NEC and FIDIC contracts.


Previous experience of working within a MEH background and experience of working in construction within a nuclear setting would be desirable however, not essential. We’re looking for you to demonstrate your quality of delivery and have a “right first time” approach to your work.
