Goodall Division
We are looking for an exceptional Clinical Leader who will directCNWL Community Child Developmentservices in Harrow, Hillingdon and Ealing as well as deepening integration with partner services within the Boroughs.
You will be working with the Strategic Director of Children’s Services at System level to ensure that Community Paediatric priorities are reflected in ICB-level plans.
You will have both clinical and leadership experience, with a good understanding of Paediatric Service delivery and improvement. You will have an inclusive, compassionate and service user focused approach. Your focus will be on building links between local services, and sponsoring improvement work.
You will be a member of the Divisional Board. You will therefore have access to development days for the Divisional senior team, and for the cohort of CNWL Clinical Directors.
You will be on the GMC Specialist Register

Responsibility to support the delivery of a comprehensive community paediatric service and to manage a clinical caseload including referrals for assessment and management relevant to:
• Child development & disability 0-19 years
• Safeguarding Responsibilties/duties including Children Looked After Health Assessments and assessment and advice for adoption
• Children with complex needs requiring Team Around the Child (TAC)
• Statutory Special Educational Needs SEND and EHCP processes
Responsibility to provide clinical leadership to the Harrow, Hillingdon and Ealing Community Paediatric services through:
• Close working with Clinical and Operational Leads for the services and with the Strategic Director
• focus on consistent pathways which enhance access and address inequalities
• work at System level to address the needs of community paediatrics through a strategic approach.

Quality
• Sponsor Quality Improvement work taking place within the services, in collaboration with the Divisional Quality Improvement Lead.
• Engage clinical staff in quality governance processes.
• Work with Clinical Leads to develop consistent care pathways which promote timely access to care and address inequalities.
• Create a learning culture among clinicians.
• Promote a multidisciplinary culture and joint working practices.
• ensure that if poor performance is identified, then steps are taken to ensure patient safety and that the issue/s are addressed through appropriate trust systems.
• Have oversight of complaints and incidents and ensure that processes are in place to deliver on the action plans which result alongside the operational director for services.
Performance and Finance
• To have oversight of the services’ performance against national and local targets.
• Work with the Clinical Leads to deliver change management programmes as required.
• Represent NWL Community Paediatric services at Divisional Board level.
Medical Staff
• Ensure that Clinical Leads carry out job planning which reflects the priorities of the service, and that appraisals are undertaken to a high standard as set out in the Trust Revalidation Policy.
• Ensure that systems are in place so that all clinical staff have structured supervision
• Ensure team conflict is identified and dealt with through collaborative working between Clinical and Operational Leads
• Work with the Divisional Medical Director and Medical Staffing Manager to ensure that any disciplinary issues are managed in accordance with Trust and National policies
• Where trainee difficulties arise, support the Clinical Leads to coordinate a response involving the CNWL Education department and the relevant training programme
Main Clinical Responsibilities
• Specific responsibility for Community Paediatrics Neurodevelopmental Clinic
• Medical Advisor (MA) to the London Borough of Hillingdon for Adoption and Fostering
• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Assessment
• Child protection
