Job Summary
Provide training and assistance in the Centre Of Excellence for Asia Pacific import and export regulatory issues with focus on China; compliance resource for the corporation; interface with clients through information sharing and compliance programs; work with the Chief Compliance Officer to develop corporate compliance policies; perform internal audits to monitor compliance and provide compliance training internal and externally ; assist BDP offices on-site to take necessary corrective action in the event of compliance shortcomings.
Essential Responsibilities
1. Act as a Subject Matter Expert with regards to import and export documentation/permit/licensing, HTS, valuation of products, Country of Origin, and regional logistics compliance issues.
2. Liaise with local operations teams and other cross-functional teams across the company’s global network to optimize daily operations through sharing of best practices.
3. Drive customs initiatives with Regional Key Account holders for our global clients i.e. leverage on FTAs, changes in policies and regulations, etc.
4. Experience with export and import controls, economic sanctions, and other trade laws, regulations and requirements administered by jurisdictions in APAC.
5. Create best practice methodologies that are to be shared inside of BDP operations as well as to external clients.
6. Train BDP staff at all levels in formalized programs based on areas of potential exposure.
7. Keep current with global and local regulatory issues to limit corporate exposure at all levels.
8. Increase productivity and efficiency at the operations level thorough systems development, written procedures and policy, and recommendations.
9. Provide supervision and guidance to Asia Pacific offices on regulatory changes and compliance matters.
10. Provide or support training and education on trade compliance related matters in APAC.

Job Specifications
Experience:
Required minimum 5 years’ experience in international and local regulatory framework for Importing / exporting
Preferred- one year transportation / logistics experience
Education:
A good degree in supply chain or international logistics
Preferred- Chemical or Logistics background
Knowledge:
Proven ability within Trade regulations, logistics, operations and project management Experience with Trade Management Systems
Hours of Work:
As required, including travel
Supervision:
Must be independent and motivated, requiring little or no immediate supervision. This position currently has no direct reports. Complexity of This position requires attention to detail, strong organization skills, Work: and ability to handle competing priorities. The position requires Professional interaction with clients, government officials (such as Customs). As “gate-keeper” for the Organization’s liability in many areas, focus on proper resolution to protect BDP must be a priority.
