Qualifications

Completion of a master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from an nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Licensing prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred.

Demonstrated current competence and provision of care, treatment, or services for an adequate volume of patients in the past twelve months, or completion of master’s/post-master’s degree program in the past twelve months. Experience must correlate to the privileges requested.

Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances. Job Description:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will join our Trauma Services team located at Utah Valley Hospital, a level II trauma center in Provo, Utah. Our team responds to trauma activations in the emergency center, intensive care, and other units throughout the hospital. On occasion, the APP will be asked to assist in trauma surgical procedures.

Our Emergency Department provides 24-hour treatment, seven days a week, for patients of all ages, and all types of acute medical and trauma conditions, including emergent trauma injuries. Additionally, Utah Valley Hospital is a Joint Commission Certified stroke and cardiac receiving facility.

Full time, this APP will work a rotating schedule that will require some day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. Shifts are typically either 8 or 12 hours in length. No required call time is anticipated.

Job Essentials

Position Specific Duties:
This position is accountable for the provision of patient care and other duties as permitted by licensure and defined within Credentialing and Privileging documentation (hospital), Credentialing and Scope of Practice (Medical Group), Consultation and Referral Plan (NP), Delegation of Services Agreement (PA) (DOPL) or other similar documentation as appropriate.

Clinical Practice:
Perform patient assessment to obtain a complete and accurate record of the patient's clinical information and medical symptoms. Order tests and exams to obtain additional information needed to ensure proper and complete care of patient.

Job Description:

Intermountain Medical Center Trauma Services encompasses a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering the highest quality of care to over 3,000 trauma patients per year. As part of the team, you will support and be supported by advanced practice providers (APPs), trauma surgeons, nurses, physicians, and support staff.

This Trauma Services APP will provide care to patients from admission to discharge. This includes responsibilities in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care and other inpatient units, and follow-up care in our trauma clinic. You will participate in procedures, patient resuscitation, research and performance improvement, may first assist during trauma surgeries, among many other opportunities throughout the Level I Trauma Center.

Trauma Services provides 24/7 coverage, 365 days per year. This means your schedule will vary depending on department needs. A mixture of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts are to be expected, typically 8-12 hours in length. However, no call is anticipated.


To be successful in this position, we highly prefer an APP with a background in critical or emergency medicine.

Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are accountable for the provision of patient care at top of licensure, within their scope of practice. The role is accountable for performance and compliance for assigned protocols and sites in a country. Under the oversight of the Clinical Research Associate Manager or Clinical Research Director, the person ensures compliance of study conduct with International Conference on Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice and country regulations, our company’s policies and procedures, quality standards and adverse event reporting requirements internally and externally.

The Senior Clinical Research Associate acts as primary site contact and site manager throughout all phases of a clinical research study, taking overall responsibility of allocated sites. They actively develop and expand the territory for clinical research, finding and developing new sites. They will participate in internal meetings and workstreams as the subject matter expert for monitoring processes and systems.
