DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To ensure that the highly complex radiotherapy and imaging equipment is safe and accurate to operate, both for staff and patients; undertaking the appropriate machine checks and reporting any variances, faults andmalfunctions. Undertake and evaluate radiation dose delivery and complex calculations involving a range of radiation types and energies. Interpret, monitor and evaluate the treatment prescriptions to ensure that radiotherapy is delivered accurately and reproducibly and in accordance with the quality system. Evaluate delivery of radiotherapy through application and interpretation of treatment verification procedures. Ensure the team follows appropriate systems and working methods to achieve the safe, timely achievement of workload targets. Be able to accurately position patient and operate highly complex radiotherapy and imaging equipment along the radiotherapy pathway. Ensure the team keeps accurate records and comply with necessary policies and procedures. Analyse systematically and evaluate all data and information relevant to patients diagnosis, ensuring the patient and their relatives are treated with dignity and respect at all times. Communicate confidential sensitive information, and provide emotional support, to patients and their carers/relatives including children and the terminally ill. Provide information to patients and their carers with regard to the radiotherapy pathway and expected side effects. To communicate accurate and timely information with all other disciplines involved along the patients pathway. With the team on the unit, patients and the wider multidisciplinary team manage areas of conflict and escalate as necessary. Anticipate and identify common and complex treatment related side effects, offering advice and where necessary refer to other relevant health care professionals. To provide, receive and use sensitive information maintaining patient confidentiality at all times in line with information governance legislation. Apply safe and effective moving and handling skills in order to protect patients and staff and abide by Health and safety legislation in the work place. Minimise risk of cross infection through contamination by bodily fluids/matter. Attend team management meeting with cross-site Managers and Lead Radiographer to propose and assist in the implementation of service changes in response to current NHS trends e.g. casualty waiting times and 2 week cancer wait. POSITION DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-

• Independently perform radiological examinations and produce images of diagnostic quality for radiological reports with due regard to patient safety, clinical responsibility, radiation protection and effective use of technology
• Ensure the correct patient and area of interest is being imaged accordingly
• Ensure examination performed is of diagnostic value with correct patient identification before discharging the patient

QUALIIFCATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:-

• Min Diploma/Degree in Diagnostic Imaging, Diagnostic Radiography or relevant
• Ability to carry out X-ray (including DEXA Scans), Mammography and Ultrasound is a must
• Candidate with experience performing CT/MRI scans will be at an advantage
• Must be registered with National Environmental Agency (NEA) as a radiation worker
• Must be registered with Singapore Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC)

As a key member of the Medical Imaging team, the Grade 2 Night Shift Radiographer acts as a role model in demonstrating enhanced clinical knowledge and leadership skills predominately outside regular business hours (Night Shift). The Successful candidate will, under the direction of the Generals modality supervisors and/or Chief Radiographers provide leadership, mentoring, training and education to Radiographers rostered to night shift where additional support is limited on site across Footscray and Sunshine Hospitals. To be Successful in this Role you will

Assist the Grade 3/4 Radiographers in providing leadership, mentoring, training and education to Radiographers rostered to night shift
Ensure all Radiographers operate within their scope of practice, and current level of competence at all times while on night shift
Effectively respond to and manage any emergency or heightened demand periods, ensuring adequate staff resources are utilised (on-site and/or on call resources) and escalation pathways are followed to provide excellent patient care and access to Medical Imaging services
