Job Description:
- Provides proactive supervision and direction at all times to ensure the chemical plant is operating as to maintain safety, environmental, and operational priorities at the optimum production level
- To ensure criticalplant parameters are within the target and provide guidance and advice for corrective action in the event of any plant upsets or hiccups which include conducting investigation/troubleshooting
- Be knowledgeable on how to achieve operating targets and strategies (KPI), and lead the operating team to achieve those results
- To prepare and forecast plant production planning and communicate effectively with shift team leader to ensure the target is achieved
- Take measures to keep sufficient levels of reagents and consumables for daily plant operations
- To properly plan foequipment handover to maintenance in order to achieve minimum equipment downtime. This includes equipment handover planning for shutdown and turnaround
- To review and update operational work process update and review i.e risk assessment (RA), standard operating procedure (SOP)
- Assist in preparation and monitor monthly budgets for reagents, consumables and all other controllable operating expenses.
- To support report writing/dashboard development to management on plant performance and compliance
- To provide support to technical compliance, QHES and HR team related with operational training development and tracking within operation team
- Support the engineering department on plant improvement initiatives and capital project base
- Take the lead in operational improvement/modification initiatives. This includes managemenof change (MOC) implementation, design review, commissioning new facilities and lead Pre-Start Up Safety Review (PSSR)
- To support any other activities and initiatives as delegated by Operation Manager
- In the absence of the Operations Manager, the incumbent shall act as the Deputy Operations Manager

Job Requirements:
- Degree in Chemical / Process Control / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical, refinery, power plant, waste to energy, or environmental process operations.
- Incumbents with 2nd grade Steam Boiler Engineer Certification has an added advantage
- Possess a good working knowledge of the chemical and thermal process units and an understanding of combustion systems / furnaces / COGEN, evaporation, distillation, instrumentation, process control, air pollution control systems, safety systems, pumps, screw compressors, exchangers, and more.
- Results oriented individual with robust technical abilities and problem solving skills.
- Able to work independently and in a team to achieve departmental goal of lean production.
