ABOUT THE ROLE
We seek an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer to join Operations team. The successful candidate will optimise manufacturing processes, improve productivity, and ensure high-quality products. This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Process Optimization:
○ Analyze and optimize zinc die casting processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
○ Implement process improvements, monitor results, and adjust as necessary.
● Process Design and Development:
○ Design, develop, and implement new die casting processes and tooling.
○ Collaborate with tooling designers to ensure optimal die design.
● Quality Control:
○ Develop and maintain quality control procedures.
○ Conduct regular quality audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
● Equipment Maintenance:
○ Ensure proper maintenance of die casting machines and peripheral equipment.
○ Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
● Safety and Compliance:
○ Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
○ Conduct risk assessments and implement safety improvements.
● Training and Development:
○ Train production staff on new processes and equipment.
○ Develop and maintain training documentation.
● Continuous Improvement:
○ Identify areas for improvement and propose solutions.
○ Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
● Collaboration:
○ Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams.
○ Communicate effectively with suppliers and customers.
● Project Management:
○ Manage projects related to process improvements, new product introductions, and equipment upgrades.
● Data Analysis:
○ Collect and analyze data to measure process performance.
○ Use data to drive decision-making and process optimization.
CANDIDATE’S REQUIREMENTS
● Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
● Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in molding/ casting or a related industry.
● Strong knowledge of metal component manufacturing and tool design.
● Experience with process optimization, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
● Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and process simulation tools.
● Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
● Ability to work in a factory environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
● Advantage if candidate has experience in automation, robotics, and familiar with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
