Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Assist in ensuring the safety and security of the retail/commercial development and its occupiers
• Able to conduct investigation and collate information for incident reporting
• To oversee and supervise in-house and outsourced security officers and be able to lead the team to respond to all emergency situations in accordance to SOPs and building regulations including the Fire Code.
• Responsible for the running of the FCC, ensuring no abnormalities to the CCTV, fire alarm monitoring panel, carpark, PA System, lift supervisory panel, traffic controls, etcs.
• Conduct OJT for new security officers

Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant working experience in the related field is preferred.
• Familiar with retail and commercial security operations and requirements
• CERT, First-aid/AED trained
• IT/PC literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel and ability to do up incident reports and simple reports indepenedently
• Able to read and write English.
• Prefer with experience in customer service with good interpersonal skills.
• Possess valid security license, with PLRD and RTT certification / relevant Security Supervisory certification (WSQ) as required by PLRD or equivalent.
• FSM or knowledge of the fire code will be advantageous.

To be responsible for overseeing all aspects of security functions. You will be leading the security team which protects assigned premises, assets and personnel.

Challenges:

Job Overview

-To protect our customer's property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes.

-Delivering results that meet and / or exceed the Key performance indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, providing a service that aids in the retention of the contract.

-To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.

Main Duties

Duties include, but not limited to, and in Accordance with Mitie Site AI's, the following area's:

-Ensure that the correct procedures are carried out when receiving lost property.

-To be fully conversant with roles and responsibilities when dealing with fire alarms, bomb threats and medical Incidents.

-Ensure you use the Critical Incident Management model to deal with all critical incidents.

-Debrief the team after every critical incident and identify to management any lessons learnt or areas of good practice.

-Carry out routine and spot checks with all officers for compliance

-To demonstrate leadership across the team

-To manage the Security Team Members punctuality and attendance at all times.

-To ensure an effective handover of shift to the on-coming Team.

-To ensure Security Team Members deliver tasks within the agreed deadlines, in accordance with the standard operating procedures.

-To manage any escalation received from Team Members, through to resolution.

-To assist in any incident situation and direct the team to ensure the incident is managed seamlessly in collaboration with the site team and others.

-To have complete understanding of Emergency procedures and the various actions that are required.

-Conduct Mid-year and End-of-year appraisals with you team.

-To support and work as ‘one team' with all staff and service partner colleagues relating to the service delivery of the team and work to the standards required by Mitie and the client.

-To protect the assets in the building by maintaining a vigilant, proactive security presence to minimize security risks to people and property.

-Take charge of phone calls that may come through the emergency phone and act as required.

-Report and issues, faults, defects in regards to the CCTV servers and Access Control systems immediately to Site and Security Manager

-A proforma for all audits must be completed (dated, signed and returned) to the UK Security Operations Manager.

-Monitoring of all control room systems, ensuring that all necessary actions/ procedures are followed and escalated when required: Systems inlcude, CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarms, PA systems, Intercom,

-Ensure that all Health & Safety requirements are strictly adhered to and conduct regular audit to ensure requiirements are maintained.

-Ensure that all equipment is serviceable and in good working order for the roles and responsibilities under your direct supervision

-Ensure that all accidents, incidents or ‘near misses' are investigated and reported immediately to Mitie and the Management Team

-Co-ordinate the training of new staff in line with site and company requirements ensuring the appropriate training area's are documented and signed for.

-Manage all security officers on a day to day basis, including operational and welfare issues.

-Identify where additional resources may be required to support events or other seasonal fluctuations to ensure smooth running of service delivery.

-Support the management and delivery of the staff rostering.

-Ensure all staff fully understand the emergency procedures for the building and their role in the evacuation plan.

-Ensure all posts are correctly manned at the designated times.

-Pro-actively check that the team are completing their activities in accordance with the Assignment Instructions and Risk Assessments. Ensuring strict compliance with all Risk Assessments in place for the area.

-Ensure all instructions, both written and verbal are adhered to.

-Carry a radio at all times whilst on duty.

-Contribute to ways of improving service delivery to our clients and customers by not accepting the ‘norm'.

-Ensure that all staff have Return to Work interviews when resuming from a period of sickness and deal with any sickness ‘triggers' according to the Absence Policy.

-Carry out any “Reasonable Request” made by Managers or WTW Management.

-Have their SIA & CCTV license with them at all times.

-May be required to cover breaks within the team as required.

-Respond to emergencies in line with documented SOPs.

-Be confident to deal with reports of crime

-Provide the primary first aid response for any injury or illness on site.

About The Role
A key member of the Operational team responsible for Managing a team of Security Officers to ensure the highest level of security and safety of both customer buildings and personnel is met.

You will effectively supervise on a day-to-day basis the operation of the security team, ensuring that an exceptional end-to-end service is provided as per contract requirements. You will ensure that all assigned tasks are completed in a professional and timely manner and all relevant legislation is adhered to.

You will be working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hours are between 8:00am till 5:00pm.

Main Duties:

• Supervising the security team, providing exceptional first line manned guarding to the assigned contract
• Ensuring that all duties carried out in an honest, ethical, and professional manner
