Position: Instrumentation & Control Design Engineer (Water & Wastewater Segment)

Location: Bangalore

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instrumentation & Control Design Engineer with a 5 - 15 years of expertise in designing, developing, and implementing control systems specifically within the water and wastewater industry. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of water treatment processes, regulatory standards, and a proven track record in delivering successful projects in this sector.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop instrumentation and control systems tailored for water and wastewater treatment processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Prepare technical documentation for instrumentation and systems requisitions and conduct technical evaluations.
3. Review and prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
4. Prepare and review Network Architecture drawings, well-versed with various DCS/PLC/SCADA manufacturer models like ABB, Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell.
5. Prepare Instrument Documents such as Design basis, Instrument Index, IO list, Data sheets (all types of field instruments like Gauges, Transmitters, Flowmeters & complex analyzers), Tray and Cable spec. sheet, Tray & Cable Schedule, Junction Box Schedule, pneumatic valve lists, and data sheets, etc.
6. Review and prepare Control Documents like Datasheet for PLC, Control Panel and RTU, System Architecture, Panel and control room GA, Control Philosophy, Alarm & Trip Schedule, Cause and Effect Diagram, Control schematics, and Block logic diagrams for PLC, etc.
7. Review and prepare BMS Equipment Datasheets like CCTV, Fire & Alarm, Access Control, EPABX, and others.
8. Review and prepare Drawings like Instrument cable tray layout, Earthing scheme for Instrumentation items, Instrument Hook-up drawings, Instrument Cable Block diagram and loop drawing/document, Junction box wiring diagram, Instrument & Junction box location layout, Layout for CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, and EPABX system.
9. Review and prepare BOM Instruments & Analyzers, Lugs, Cables, Cable Trays, Cable Glands, Tubes & Tube Fittings, Earthing, etc.
10. Review and prepare Technical Requisitions for Instruments, Cable, Cable Tray, Fittings, Instrument Valves, etc.
11. Review Vendor offers with Evaluation preparation.
12. Review and approve post-award vendor documents/drawings.
13. Review Vendor documents from Mechanical & Electrical Package and provide necessary Instrumentation inputs.
14. Review all internal Process, Mechanical & Electrical drawings and provide necessary Instrumentation inputs.
15. Do all interdepartmental coordination with other teams (Process, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) to get input and give feedbacks.
16. Coordinate with Vendor and Client to finalize specifications and get the Drawings/Documents Approved.
17. Provide Input for Execution and Commissioning.
18. Involve in FAT/SAT/Inspection.
19. Proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting will be an added advantage.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field from a recognized University.
• 5 - 15 years’ relevant experience in design of Instrumentation and Control systems associated with the Water & Wastewater industry.
• In-depth knowledge of water treatment processes, including filtration, disinfection, and wastewater treatment methodologies.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools specific to water treatment control system design.
• Strong understanding of regulatory standards and regional water quality regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Task and Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all HSE requirements through monitoring and audit of the contractors.
• Supervise team of HSE officers and supervisors.
• Provide training and induction/awareness courses on HSE and related areas.
• Interface with other trades and contractors as required, to ensure a good relationship & communications on HSE matters.
• Review HSE related documentation
• Lead HSE initiatives and communication/coordination groups to share HSE learning and ensure consistent standards and application.
• Resolve minor HSE issues at site level, recording issues for future learning/trends, and raise major issues for greater awareness and resolution at higher levels if required.
• HSE reporting and participation/leading investigations of accidents/incidents.
• Assist in coordinating with Management, Owners, Contractors and local government authorities on all HSE matters.
• Undertake and lead incident investigations and to ensure investigation is closed in time.
• Updating on the current HSE trend and best practices and implement on site
• Performing as Environment Control Officer (ECO) Noise control / monitoring officer as required by the Authority
• Updating and ensuring that all safety procedures are up to date and conforms to Singapore and International Standards.
• Assist in the implementation, review and improving the Safety Management System, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems in the yard.
• Conducting and Managing Internal Audits (Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and closeout as per the schedule).
• Any other duties assigned by the HSE Manager.

• To carry out equipment start up, testing and commissioning interface with Building Automation system (BAS)
• To design and good knowledge in ACMV Electrical installation drawing and control starter panel of ACMV Equipment
• Prepare electrical documents for equipment and material approval submission.
• To carry out electrical material ordering for ACMV system and coordinate with suppliers and sub-contractors.
• To make monthly and weekly schedule refer to the master schedule.
• To control and instruct to sub-contractor strongly.
• Prepare electrical documents for site inspection, testing and commissioning and Handover document.

Requirement;

• At least 3 to 5 years work experience in building construction ACMV Electrical Project, DATA CENTRE Project
• Possess leadership skills with the ability to control subcontractors
• Good knowledge in ACMV and Building Automation System (BAS) interfacing testing

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Lead new product and manufacturing transfer activities, setup of medical device service & repair facility

· Implement new production / service/ project initiative and manage budget and timeline.

· Liaise with customer on all new product development/ service & repair activities

· Perform intermediary role between Research & Development (R&D) & manufacturing and service & repair.
