Job Description:

This job code applies to the Athletic Trainer, in the high school setting, with primary assignment to support the medical needs of the school, while promoting the Intermountain Sports Medicine programs. Under the supervision of the team physicians, this position will provide medical coverage, both 'on-the-field' and in the training room for injured athletes during practices and events. Such duties may also extend to assist other local high schools and college settings, community sporting events, and regional sporting camps/activities. Job Essentials

• Ensures that proper return to play criteria is met before allowing participation by athlete or patient, ensuring that the best interest of the athlete or patient is always the first priority.
• The hours to accomplish said expectations will vary depending on the schools seasonal or calendar needs.
• Shows flexibility in the number of hours worked including time spent traveling to away games and may at times include weekends, early morning, and late night hours.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

Essential Functions:

• Assist lead CRC in developing source document templates in Microsoft Word, Excel, or similar program. Source documents should be routinely maintained to reflect accurate information that is required of sponsors by verifying against eCRF software.

• Scientific responsibilities of the Researcher include: identify, initiate, develop, conduct and report on innovative GRECC research studies; either independently or in collaboration with other scientists and practitioners, to specify and test hypotheses related to cardio vascular disease populations, aging, and vascular control; to provide leadership in advancing the body of knowledge in these fields within healthcare delivery; performance improvement and GRECC research and evaluation;
• Provides consultation services to VA investigators whose primary professional identification is in GRECC as research design, data collection, data encoding, analytic methods, and statistical procedures;
• Creates opportunities for synthesis across multiple research projects, and integrates junior faculty into projects that will, in turn, enhance their productivity and professional growth; and
• Other duties that may arise.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm
