Responsible for health and safety, access and security when working in locked wards, health premises, learning disabilities and mental health accommodation. Deal with new situations as they arise and advise Estates Manager of action taken. To comply with all company policies and procedures. Respond to and liaise with other members of the company staff who request assistance. Be prepared to work in hazardous areas, confined spaces and on contaminated equipment taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment in accordance with company policy and safe working procedures i.e., the post holder will assist in the completion of risk assessments. Be prepared to work in areas where they may be exposed to distressing or emotional circumstances (i.e. terminally ill patients on wards, mortuary etc.) on an infrequent basis. To be conversant with local health and safety rules, local risk assessments, Health and Safety Handbook, fire safety rules, evacuation procedures and local COSHH register. Ensure the security of all plant, equipment and buildings under the jurisdiction of the Estates Department. Report to the Estates Manager plant or equipment failure and request in writing the supply of goods and/or services with reference to manufacturers manuals etc. Be fully conversant with all company policies and procedures including: - Fire Safety, Infection Control, Heath & Safety at Work Act, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations and Manual Handling guidance and safe systems of work. Use and be competent in the use of all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works. Notify immediately Estates Officer or equivalent of any problems within the properties that may be of danger to staff and members of the public. To ensure that incident forms are completed and co-operate with the investigation of any incident or untoward occurrence. Respond to emergency situations as requested by the Estates Manager should an incident take place at any Health premises. Be available to respond to any major incident situations where the Major Incident Plan (MIP) is activated. Undertake an annual appraisal and performance review and identify development needs. The post holder is required to work the hours as necessary to ensure continuity of service. Other appropriate duties as required.

In your new job as a Facilities Manager, you will manage hard & soft services scope (technical, cleaning, archiving, pest, catering & estates).

The role holder will manage a team of approx. 30 people plus sub-contractors, ensuring that an effective and efficient service is delivered and maintained and that service levels are in line with the contractual CI's, KPI's and PI's. You'll also monitor and control supplier, sub-contractor and labour costs to ensure financial targets are achieved. Building a strong working relationship with internal and external customers including sub-contractors is important in this role, to ensure that all services are delivered in a professional, timely and cost-effective manner.

You'll be responsible for compiling accurate management information/reporting as required and submit in a timely manner to appropriate stakeholders, and play a key role to support any site audits, including but not limited to, quality, health and safety, environmental and finance.

The successful Facilities Manager will have experience of FM project delivery, including an awareness of CDM regulations and proven success in an operational manufacturing environment, worked within process-led, regulated organisations and/or industries. You will hold a suitable Health and Safety certificate (IOSH Managing Safely or similar) and Knowledge of Quality Management Systems is extremely desirable.
