Alight is excited to invest in Workday Education to expand our Application Management Services (AMS) practice. Our focus will be on providing AMS services to clients who are currently deployed in Workday Education. We are looking for candidates who will help us develop and grow in this space.
As a Workday AMS Education Consultant (Education + AMS, Application Management Services), a typical day to include the following:
- Independently consults with existing Workday Education clients and participates in all stages of the Workday project/issue lifecycle, from planning and design phases, to architect and configuration, through testing and deployment for the Workday Education application by developing solutions to complex problems/projects across multiple domains.
- Effectively leads small to large AMS client deliverables, from start to finish across multiple, concurrent projects/issues utilizing Alight’s quality standards and consulting methodology.
- Integrates with other Workday domains across Alight to provide a complete solution.
- Manages self and team member(s) work to project/issue scope, timeline, risk and budget for AMS projects and/or tasks.
- Listens to Workday Education client request, assess actual client need, provides subjective matter expertise, propose alternatives, and recommend solution(s).
- Frequently discusses, and can articulate to clients, lessons learned from previous Workday Education client experience, Workday best practices as well as Alight's Point of View.
- Manages client expectations.
- Proactively identifies trouble spots for client and recommends solutions.
- Significantly contributes to the development of internal resources for Workday Education projects via mentoring, coaching, and directing work.
- Participates in and may lead internal business initiatives to assist the organization in building our Alight brand and collateral for AMS NA Professional Services in Workday Education, including but not limited to internal domain groups, chats and training.
- Participates in building the Alight Brand by participating in external Workday Education ecosystem product groups/chats and contributes advanced thinking and sharing of ideas within the ecosystem.
- Becomes an expert in the Workday product suite (Education) with a broad-based knowledge of Academic Appointments and Students functionality, while also being able to architect solutions within specific area(s).
- Develops working relationships with other members of AMS NA Professional Services. Shares knowledge and information through regular communications and facilitation.
- Participates in Workday Education client sales meetings, assisting with collateral creation where needed.
- Creates work estimates and solutions for small to large bodies of Workday Education work.
Knowledge and Expertise of:
- 2+ years of experience in Higher Education Consulting and Industry technology systems such as Adaptive Planning, Banner, Colleague, Jenzabar, SAP, or Oracle, and/or 2+ years of experience in Workday Education product
- Proven consultative skills to guide client and internal discussions to agreement of solutions in a timely manner, use strong presentation, communication, listening and consultative skills to guide and drive discussions
- Experience implementing complex, practical business solutions under multiple deadlines
- Ability to be effectively and actively engage on multiple, concurrent projects
- Able to prioritize and organize increasingly complex work to ensure overall timeliness and quality standards
- Proven experience working creatively and analytically in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated advanced experience with Excel and PowerPoint
- Exhibits problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting issues and escalates as appropriate
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including clear articulation of complex messages and requirements
- Demonstrated commitment and achievement to delivery excellence and client satisfaction
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- This role does not support sponsorship
- Workday HCM+ certifications (e.g. HCM, Student, etc.) are strongly preferred
- Workday certification at the time of hire as well as on-going successful re-certification is highly desired. Additional Workday certifications may be required
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in technical, business, or financial discipline.

Pay Transparency Statement: Alight takes into consideration a candidate’s experience, education, certification/credentials, market data, internal equity, and geography when determining an offer for a successful employment candidate, and Alight does so on an individualized, non-discriminatory basis. Therefore, an offer may fall anywhere between the estimated minimum base salary for this role of $90,200.00/year (for full time employees) and the estimated maximum base salary for this role of $160,000.00/year (for full time employees). In addition to a base salary, this position may be eligible for a bonus and/or other incentive plans.
