Senior Mechanical Engineer – Hybrid Solutions (Poly)

Description -

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is a critical role within the HP Hybrid Solutions (Poly) team.  Working with a global design team, this position drives execution on all aspects of the mechanical design of new videoconferencing products over multiple projects with outsourced development partners.  Central to the success of this role is the ability to drive execution at ODM vendors and interface with a multinational team to solve complex technical issues.  This individual should have experience driving aggressive schedules, reviewing complex mechanical designs including providing technical guidance, working with vendors to resolve complex mechanical problems using data-driven decision-making, and experience in delivering mass-produced hardware.

Responsibilities:

• Leads multiple project teams of other mechanical hardware engineers at outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of mechanical and thermal development for complex products, including design, validation, tooling, and testing.

• Manages relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on all aspects of mechanical design.  This will be across multiple global locations, including the design architecture team that is based in the USA.

• With the global development team, ensure all mechanical engineering aspects of product development including thermal management, FAI (first-article inspection), DFM (design for manufacturing), and CMF (color, materials, finish). 

• Reviews and evaluates designs for compliance with development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality.

• Provides domain-specific expertise and overall mechanical hardware leadership to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.

• Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects in the mechanical hardware design organization.

• Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field

• 10+ years of experience, including at least 5 years of experience in developing mass-produced electronic equipment.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Significant experience with Creo Parametric, Siemens NX or other 3D CAD software as a mechanical design tool.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in mechanical and thermal architecture of electronics packaging design.

• Direct experience designing metal and plastic parts including associated production tooling, and is familiar with production processes for fabrication and assembly of such parts.  Familiarity with design rules for mass production of mechanical parts in support of DFM.

• Has run CFD analysis and thermal mockups to validate thermal solutions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in both English and Mandarin languages.

• Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.

[What the role is]

The Senior Geospatial Consultant is part of the Geospatial Services team driving geospatial capability building in Singapore. The team provides geospatial analytics, data fusion/conversion and training services with the objective to deepen geospatial capabilities in Singapore and in the Government.

[What you will be working on]

The Senior Geospatial Consultant will liaise and engage with organisations from the Healthcare, Social, Education sectors and Government Agencies to promote the mainstreaming of geospatial solutions and technologies in Singapore. The Senior Geospatial Consultant works with the team to develop programmes, conduct training & workshops, and execute geospatial analytics projects.

The Senior Geospatial Consultant will need to effectively engage with persons unfamiliar with Geospatial data and technology to communicate the value-add and potential that Geospatial has in providing value to their various organisations and workflows.

[What we are looking for]

• Understanding of geospatial (e.g. Understanding of Geospatial concepts, technology, applications, geospatial analytics techniques and methods).

• Good understanding in the application of Python required. R programming languages is a bonus.

• Knowledge in the use of geospatial software such as ESRI (ArcGIS Pro, Online, tools, etc) or QGIS is required.

• Good written communication skills. To be able to curate presentation decks to effectively illustrate key messages 

• Good verbal communication skills. To be able to present and engage with large audiences and senior executives in formal and informal settings.

• Good interpersonal skills, to manage collaborative relationships with various teams and work towards delivery of cross functional projects

In this role you own the digital product, its digital journeys and the user experience. You will collaborate with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements. This role can be filled Germany-wide.

Your assignments

• Works closely with Product Management and translates market trends and feature level requirements into executable work for agile teams
• Creates the product vision and roadmap which accomplishes the goal of the vision
• Manages the product backlog and priorities based on changing requirements
• Oversees all stages of product development process for medical and non-medical functionalities
• Coordinates cross-functional product teams and orchestrates priorities
• Monitors and evaluates product progress at each stage of the process
• Supports in developing market positioning for the product
• Ensures consideration of DSO (Digital Services & Operations) related activities, e.g. rollout, service, support

Your profile

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or similar
• Minimum 5+ years experience in the healthcare sector, preferably as (senior) product management, program management or product owner
• Minimum 5+ years demonstrated track record of delivering digital solutions into healthcare organizations solving user-centric problems
• Work experience in clinic / hospital settings and / or digital health and innovation environments
• Good understanding of clinic processes as well as technological trends and impediments in Healthcare sector, preferably in the Nephrology domain
• Understanding of data formats, structuring and analysis is a plus
• Strong customer & user focus: Building strong customer relationships and delivering user-centric solutions
• In-depth knowledge of digital healthcare space, spanning from differentiated market segments to geographical variances
