What you'll do:

As a Business Assurance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of our client's operations in the APAC region. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate and timely consolidated financial reports. Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President, Group Tax, you will be responsible for advisory work and income tax compliance for CapitaLand Investment group of entities as part of the Group Tax team.

Responsibilities

• Provide tax advice on tax structuring, investments, acquisitions, and divestment of assets.
• Advise on tax implications in respect of cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions and planning tax efficient profit repatriation etc.
• Review/perform/coordinate on tax due diligence on acquisitions of companies/entities.
• Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation, regulations, and industry trends.
• Prepare and file Estimated Chargeable Income, corporate tax returns, and computations to Tax Authorities.
• Prepare and present informative reports and presentations on tax-related matters.
• Handle replies to queries from Tax Authorities.
• Verify tax assessments and raise objections, where applicable.
• Participate in any other tasks/projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy or ACCA / CPA qualification or equivalent
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or a large organization with in-house tax function
• Exposure to the real estate industry / private equity space and some knowledge of tax regimes of Asia-Pacific countries

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Handle full set of accounts including cash flow, month/quarter/year-end closing, payroll, GST and year-end audit activities for clients.

· Prepare and review financial reports and XBRL.

· Prepare basic tax computations for ECI & financial statements disclosures purposes

· Xero Certified Advisor, deep knowledge about Xero App Store. Able to advise clients to automate finance workflows via the use of relevant software and Xero App add-ons

ESSENTIAL QUALITIES

· Must have an Accounting Degree which is recognised by the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants or equivalent professional qualification accredited by professional bodies such as ACCA/ ICAEW/ CPA Australia etc.

· Prior management experience required

Job Responsibilities:

· Handle the enquiry from the customer regarding regulatory and AML/CFT compliance of MAS license.

· Liaise with MAS on compliance matters (e.g. VCC, FMC license application for the clients).

· Ensure prompt and accurate compliance relevant regulatory reporting submissions to MAS.

· Provide advice in the development and implementation of policy, governance and regulatory standards and frameworks related to MAS license.

· Responsible for general oversight of MAS regulatory compliance and Anti-Money Laundering / Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT)

· Ensure staff actively monitor MAS regulatory developments, trends in the market, and develop or update policies and procedures to ensure adherence and compliance with the laws and regulations

· Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with assigned clients

Job Requirements:

- At least 2 years’ experience in VCC, FMC license application and AML/KYC/regulatory compliance

- Ability to be AML officer for the clients

- Experienced working in service provider environment will be a plus

- Candidates with less experience will be considered as Assistant Compliance Manager

- Fluent in written and spoken English, Mandarin. Ability to communicate in Cantonese will be an advantage.
