Responsible to perform service work, such as troubleshooting, condition audits and maintenance work for customer’s fired boiler or waste heat recovery systems in shipyards, offshore and power plants all over the world. The Engineer II, Sustainability will be responsible for supporting the activities of the Global Sustainability team related to GHG emissions from marine and offshore vessels/assets as well as activities associated with other sustainability-related projects. These include but are not limited to benchmarking, statistical analysis, and sustainability reporting.

What You Will Do:

• Maintain a solid understanding of emerging regulatory framework related to GHG emissions and waste streams
• Support the department's different projects, services, and other activities.
• Interact with clients to perform services offered by the Global Sustainability team and identify/resolve problems with technical expertise.
• Establish and manage client projects.
• May update and inform the Global Sustainability team on regulatory changes and their impact on ABS business.
• May conduct seminars and workshops related to the environmental performance of marine vessels and offshore units.
• Support the associated service delivery across all geographic locations of Sustainability (Houston, Athens, Copenhagen, Singapore).
• May contribute to authoring ABS publications and thought leadership documents.
• Maintain awareness of the overall ABS service portfolio and promote services/products when appropriate
• May attend industry events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends
• Communicates the status of the current workload to all appropriate members of the team to ensure the needs of the clients will be met
• May identify opportunities for marketing campaigns within the area of responsibility that will lead to increased sales
• Submit reports as needed and ensure data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM
• Works as a team member within the group, but may work autonomously most of the time

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

• Requires a BSc in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on environmental performance.
• MSc degree preferred.
• Requires a minimum of four (4) years of related engineering experience in a recognized research university, research institute, shipyard, design/consulting office, shipping/oil company, or a classification society.
• Previous experience in business development or sales in a technical and diverse product environment is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience with either marine or offshore applications.
• Knowledge of GHG regulations, impacts, and technology transition.
• Experience with programming and advanced use of MS Office.
• Must be capable of presenting and working with clients
• Knowledge of related technical disciplines required
• The ability to identify, analyze and propose solutions to problems (i.e., the competence to demonstrate complex problem-solving skills)

Responsibilities:

• Field Support. To carry out Corrective Maintenance (CM) as a result of failure of the hardware and software related to SIMPLE. To restore the system to its operational condition. To monitor and maintain the records of the overall system operational availability and reliability, including Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), system downtime duration and the types of hardware defects as well as all related software versions, patches.
• Field Testing. To carry out software testing on the system whenever there is a new software bug fixes. To ensure the correct configuration of the system is loaded for software / system testing and before the system is used for production.
• Spares Services. To manage the spares provisioning, support and test equipment and other tools that are stored at Authority site. To undertake store keeping functions in respect of receipt, issue and disposal. To carry out serviceability check on the spares and to ensure prompt and appropriate action is taken to rectify any fault on the spares. To monitor the end-of-life and end-of-support status of the spares and installed hardware.
• Preventive Maintenance (PM). To carry out PM on the hardware to retain the system in the specified operational condition in accordance to the planned maintenance schedule. In carrying out the PM, to follow the approved PM checklists to perform calibration, servicing and verification of system configurations. To submit the PM report after each PM.
• Calibration Services. To liaise with vendor to perform calibration services on the test equipment that are used for the preventive maintenance.

Requirements:

• Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Engineering discipline
• Minimally 1-2 years of experience in supporting network, security, server and UPS
• Minimally 1-2 years of experience in supporting mission critical systems with a stringent SLA of 99.9%
• Well-versed in IT Service Management (ITSM) standards, processes, guidelines and best practices
• 3 shifts of 8 hours, 24x7 operation
• Able to cope in a highly pressured fast-paced environment
• Prior working experience in any Server / Network / Uninterruptible Power System / Security products such as Firewall, PIM and PAM and Server Virtualization will be an added advantage
