Interns will have a dedicated schedule specific to receiving all experiences needed to become a well versed professional. Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Reads, watches, engages in all required training's associated with the role and adheres to all company policies, procedures and safety standards.

• Provides fitness floor assistance to all members to ensure safety, provide education, and motivate members       

• Fulfills member service requirements such as fitness assessments and equipment operations, service desk duties and fitness equipment cleaning             

• Promotes personal training programs and services      

• Ensures all members feel competent, confident, and connected by providing superior customer service through complimentary and based services/programming    

• Document your experience each week:  interesting observations, lessons learned, questions for discussion, comments on workouts observed, useful client communication / training techniques, etc. 

• Assist with personal training sessions when appropriate.

• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Life Time's Mission & Vision, culture and values in all interactions with clients, coworkers and the general public.

• Weekly connects with supervisor to review progress on weekly objectives and set up actions for the upcoming week

Minimum Required Qualifications

Health Systems for TB (HS4TB) is a five-year USAID-supported global project led by Management Sciences for Health (MSH) that supports achievement of TB outcomes through health systems strengthening approaches. In India, HS4TB focuses on improving contract management for outsourcing priority TB services to the private sector. The project deploys a three-pronged approach to address contract management challenges: 1) establishing  technical support units in each project state called Partnership and Innovation Units (PIUs) that work closely with the State leadership on improving the efficiency of contract management; 2) developing health financing interventions to address contract payment delays; and 3) pioneering partnership collaboratives in each project state to engage the State Government, contracting partners, and other stakeholders. 

Responsibilities:

The main responsibility of this role involves collating, editing, and enhancing knowledge products, policy briefs, case studies, process documents, tools and job aides, PowerPoint presentations, and quarterly/annual reports produced by the project. Working in close collaboration with both the MSH India and US based teams, the technical writer intern will engage with various team members to gather insights and synthesize information as needed. The role also requires organizing and maintaining a repository of knowledge resources that can be easily accessed by team members and external stakeholders. 

Scope of Work 

• Editing and proof-reading project reports, briefs, and products. 
• Summarizing team discussions to produce meeting notes  
• Developing or enhancing PPT decks and other dissemination products 
• Maintaining knowledge management repository 

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

• Anticipated degree in a relevant field (social sciences, development studies, global health, communications)   
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required 
• Demonstrated command of the English language, with a strong vocabulary and ability to write clearly and effectively. 
• Ability to synthesize technical information and re-write in an easy-to-understand manner 
• Ability to create different content formats to disseminate knowledge management products 
• Strong team player with the ability to produce deliverables under strict deadlines 
• Previous coursework in global health is beneficial

We are seeking an intern who is passionate and curious about how to ensure global health programming listens to and learns from the teams, organizations, and communities that are closest to development issues. The intern will contribute to the enhancement and rollout of MSH’s approach to LLD, with a focus on capacity strengthening models. This will include coordinating and participating in co-creation meetings and dialogues with MSH’s internal and external stakeholders, documenting and synthesizing emerging practices from MSH’s portfolio of programs, preparing a resource hub of relevant tools and approaches, and contributing to the design and implementation of learning and exchange activities to spread and strengthen MSH’s application of the model in practice.

QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with LCS Practice Area staff to coordinate the process of updating and documenting MSH’s model for LLD and related capacity strengthening
• Conduct a desk review of existing organizational capacity assessment (OCA) tools applied in the health sector over the past 5 years and assist with updating/improving MSH’s in-house OCA tools.
• Coordinate and organize the development of an LCS resource hub, including capturing effective practices from our current programming and adaptable tools and approaches
• Support the design and delivery of at least 3 learning/knowledge exchange (KE) events around key LCS topics
• Contribute to the establishment and facilitation of a LCS Community of Practice (CoP).  
• Administrative work (not more than 10% of overall internship scope of work), including organization of tools, templates and other files in the Resource Hub and in our internal knowledge management platform (SharePoint).

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate or graduate student in Public Health, International Development/Affairs, or Pharmacy Degree Programs
• Experience or coursework in leadership, organizational development, organizational psychology, group facilitation, design thinking, adult education and/or learning and development (L&D) would be an added value
• Experience in the use of Microsoft (MS) applications including MS Word, PowerPoint and Teams.
• Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and teambuilding skills.

What are the student takeaways:

To become more familiar with current trends in international development and the funding landscape for not-for-profits, specifically in terms of the push towards more locally owned and locally led programming). This involves various “localization” methods, including being more intentional about how development partners can facilitate sustainable and effective local capacity strengthening (LCS). This internship will specifically enable the intern to understand – and contribute to improving -- practical tools for assessing organizational capacity, which form the basis of Capacity Strengthening Plans that foster demand-driven, tailored support to local actors by INGOs such as MSH. Through this internship, the selected young professional will get broad exposure to diverse global health experts and experiences of capacity strengthening across technical areas ranging from HIV/AIDS, TB, health economics and financing, leadership and governance, health workforce, supply chain and pharmaceutical systems strengthening, global health security, and climate change resilience.
