GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job provides quality care to patients and families to promote health and prevent disease under the direction of a registered nurse or physician.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs general nursing care in accordance with nursing practice standards. (30%)
• Assists with the preparation of equipment and assists the physician/clinical provider during treatment, examination and testing of patients. (20%)
• Collects assessment data, prepares patient for examination and documents clinical information on patient record. (20%)
• Orders diagnostic tests as directed by registered nurse or physician/clinical provider and gathers diagnostic tests and/or examines results prior to physician/clinical provider assessment. (20%)
• Schedules procedures and obtains authorizations as necessary. (5%)
• May give injections or medication, collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, and prepare them for testing. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• High school diploma/ GED or equivalent.
• Current state licensure as an LPN
• CPR certification.

Preferred

• 1 year healthcare experience.
• State approved IV course certification.
• Knowledge of OASIS documentation and assessment process.
• PALS or ACLS may be required based on the specific area of practice.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Under the direction of the provider and as a member of the health care team, assists in coordinating the examination, treatment and health care planning for patients. Assists with other office functions to support patient care and office operations. Follows all established protocols, policies, procedures and standardized workflows.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Using the team based approach, assists in the coordination of patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepares and rooms patients within the clinical practice setting according to standardized work flows. Accurately obtains patient vital signs, documents patient information, patient history, tobacco, and medication screening. May assist in the administration of depression screening tools. Completes annual wellness visit screenings. Reviews, updates and screens medication list in the EHR. Reviews social history with patient and updates record. If applicable, pends/''cues up'' orders for required age appropriate screenings, patient prescriptions, refills, or other orders based on AHN approved protocols.
• Performs back office testing following approved AHN protocols and policies.
• Assists providers with examination and procedures.
• May serve as a scribe with additional training.
• Provides follow up with patients at designated intervals via patient's preferred method (telephone, electronic, written) in accordance with provider instructions. Notifies patients of test results under the direction of provider in a timely manner.
• Prepares exam room for patient visit. Ensures adequate inventory of medical supplies. Ensures all patient treatment areas are at all times stocked with the appropriate supplies using established inventory standards.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments per established AHN approved policy and manufacturer's guidelines.
• Accurately performs lab controls and equipment checks as assigned.
• Administers and accurately documents medications in accordance with policy and safe practice.
• Documents accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) according to established standards and work flows.
• Accurately performs clerical office functions and other duties as assigned.
• May require floating/travel between physician office locations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• High School / GED
• CPR certification
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR 1 year of Medical Assistant OR 1 year in a direct patient care role, including vital signs. Candidate experience must align with expected clinical duties (i.e., injections, phlebotomy, EKGs)

Certification Requirements:

• Employees who have: graduated from a medical assistant program within five years OR proof of one year of work experience as a medical assistant in the last three years must complete certification training and/or attempt testing within 30 days of hire and must obtain certification within 120 days of hire.
• Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA)

Employees who have not met the above certification criteria may have the opportunity to sit for a company proctored certification exam when qualified.

The wage range for this position is $20.05 - $27.53 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers “Whole Benefits". 1. Accurately identifies, abstracts, and codes medical and demographic information for ARHMS.

2. Prepares all documentation required prior to and following visits at facilities.

• Responsible for key internal Alcon safety documents. Develop and update these documents with new or changes in product safety information. Ensure accurate and high quality outputs.
• Responsible for overall signal detection, monitoring, evaluation, and appropriate management of safety information from relevant line functions, clinical studies, post-marketing experience, literature, and other sources. Lead the Safety Management Team (SMT).
• Responsible for post-market surveillance plans, periodic safety updates, product labelling and related documents, including safety information to support product claims.
• Responsible for health hazard assessments and responses to inquiries from health authorities, health care professionals, and legal on safety issues. Prepare safety data for health authority review boards.
• Provide medical and scientific guidance to local affiliates on safety issues.

4. Physician Partnership and Support

Medical Group Medical Director of Specialty Care, Peaks Region, Colorado Market, Western Colorado, Non-Procedural Services is a leadership position reporting to and collaborating with the market Medical Group Medical Director of Primary and Specialty Care, Colorado Market, Western Colorado. Together, and in dyad partnership with market operations directors sustain healthy relationships among providers and Intermountain Health. The Medical Director must be a patient centric leader who is an excellent trusted clinician with strong interpersonal and organizational skills. They must have a strong commitment to improving the processes at Intermountain Health working with other departments, clinical programs, service-lines, clinical shared services, markets, and clinics in the organization through development of standard work and process improvement. The Medical Director will collaborate with all team members within their limited scope of services and all providers to deliver services that are high in measurable quality, value and service, while also furthering the mission, the Framework for Excellence and strategic initiatives of Intermountain Health.

Responsibilities:

1. Leadership:

• Practice medicine with excellence, as an example to others, exhibiting qualities and behaviors consistent with Employer’s Framework for Excellence
• Provide leadership, management and coaching for providers toward the attainment of the clinical, quality, patient experience, productivity, and strategic growth goals of Intermountain Health; assist in becoming a highly functional, integrated Medical Group with a particular focus on their limited focus of practice as outlined.
• Assist in hiring of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in collaboration with market Medical Group Medical Director.
• Maintain and enhance open and effective communication among providers, management teams, Care Site, and Intermountain Health
• Participate in and complete check ins and reviews with Physicians and Advanced
• Lead and participate in education of providers as requested from supporting services.

2. Customer Service:

• Collaborate with team(s) in efforts related to optimize customer service and patient care (patients and employers, as well as physicians, associates, and other internal customers), and will assist the Executive Director, Practice Administrators in efforts to develop superior service and quality.

4. Physician Partnership and Support

• Meet regularly with leadership to develop strong relationships with providers and to discuss information that is essential to the successful performance of the practice.
• Coordinate and participate in regular Practice meetings as a forum for dialogue around organizational strategic themes, clinical quality, patient experience, productivity and as a forum for gaining provider trust, input and feedback.
• Assist with physician and APP recruitment, retention, and interviewing activities.
• Attend their clinic’s/groups MOR/practice meetings monthly and as needed.
• Partner with clinical programs and service line leadership, actively participate in implementation of clinical best practices, care process models to promote clinical excellence, and high reliability while reducing unnecessary clinical variation.

5. Quality Management

• Assist the Medical Group Medical Director in developing and deploying tools to measure care outcomes related to the improvement of care processes within their limited scope of practice, in the context of clinical quality, service and access.
• Ensure that the services provided by the employed providers are compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements and will assist with monitoring and auditing when necessary.

Minimum Requirements

• MD or DO with ABMS or equivalent AOA Board Certification in a relevant specialty.
• Active Medical Licensure
• Minimum two years of clinical experience in relevant specialty and experience in leading successful quality improvement projects within the clinical setting.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
