Position Summary

Under the leadership of the Chief Nursing Officer, the director of Comprehensive Cancer Center and Outpatient Oncology carries out the strategy and vision for the comprehensive coordination of cancer care and the educational programs for hospital staff, patients and the community that supports Community Hospital’s strategic plan, quality commitment, and values while complying with hospital policies/procedures and applicable laws and standards.

The Director is responsible and accountable for overall management of the assigned departments and service to include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating all aspects of care/services delivered; ensuring quality programs, patient safety, and a level of customer service that strives to exceed internal and external customer expectations.

The Director develops and mentors a high-performing team for all areas of responsibility through practice of excellent employee relations, attention to employee needs (including fostering effective working relationships training, developing/coaching and evaluating), performance improvement initiatives, a collaborative environment, and initiating personnel actions, when necessary, in accordance with Human Resource policies and organization philosophy.

The Director ensures financial viability by managing both applicable revenue and expenses with attention to cost management, productivity in assigned cost centers, and tactical execution of Lean concepts.

The Director establishes and maintains effective working relationships with medical staff, organizational leaders, and other departments and fosters a collaborative environment with department leadership and staff in order to achieve department goals.

Experience

Must have a minimum of three years of experience in the care of cancer patients (including chemotherapy administration). Three years of management experience in an acute care hospital, health system, comparable health setting. Demonstrated strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills is required.

Education

Master’s degree in nursing or related field required.

Licensure/Certifications

State of CA RN license required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate, current, and comprehensive statistical data on department operations; prepares and submits routine and special reports to management on department operations, budgetary variance, and recommended operational changes and corrections as needed.
• Monitors reimbursements and controls expenditures to achieve favorable financial outcomes. Identifies opportunities for business development to enhance reimbursement while planning for future trends within the industry including the long-range business plans and proformas to support new program proposals.

The Director Data Center and Hardware Planning reports to the VP Global IT Infrastructure and is responsible for all HPE data center and tech room operations.

This position has equal focus on operational execution and transformational initiatives and requires a high degree of collaboration with other technical and business leaders to ensure our solutions are business aligned. This role ensures that day-to-day delivery of data center services meets or exceeds business expectations and works to ensure continual improvement on SLAs and communication. Strategic and Operational Planning and Execution

BASIC FUNCTION:                 

The Executive Director will serve as a visionary leader of the Marriott - Sorenson Center for Hospitality Leadership. They will work to lead and build programs that will bring industry and academe together to prepare Howard students to meet the critical needs of leadership. Through this work, the Executive Director will act as the liaison between the Office of the Dean and various departments within the School of Business, the Office of the President, strategic initiative staff, corporate partners in hospitality, faculty, students, and the project sponsor (The J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation).

The Executive Director is responsible for the Center’s ongoing strategy development and implementation. In this capacity the ED will develop curriculum and co-curricular activities; create engagement opportunities with industry representatives; develop and steward new and diverse relationships within the hospitality industry; and manage to the program’s goals and objectives.

In addition, the Executive Director will track quantifiable data and statistical evidence to qualify the success of the Center for Hospitality Leadership. This will include tracking student success and recommending areas of improvement in service of greater impact.

Manages the operations of the VOA News Center:

• Plans and directs all editorial and managerial activities in the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM) Voice of America (VOA) central newsroom.

• You will assess the technical, business, and administrative policies required to achieve Warfare Center (WC) goals, and propose changes when appropriate.

• Assist all team members, particularly client/ Family/Caregiver, to establish realistic, measurable goals with consideration of the desires of Soldier/Veteran, benefit limitations, and available resources.
• Apply a collaborative team approach to assess inpatients and/or outpatients.
• Organize data collected from multiple sources and in collaboration with the Soldier/Veteran and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Maintain knowledge regarding Americans with Disabilities Act, Federal legislation affecting individuals with disabilities need for vocational services, assistive devices, and/or adaptive equipment.
• Serve as a change agent to implement lessons learned to adjust policy and increase responsiveness and effectiveness of medical and benefit systems.
• Insure the need of Soldier/Veteran and their Family/Caregiver is the primary consideration when making any informed decisions.
• Serve as an advocate for injured Soldiers and their families.

Starting at $92,123 Per Year (GS 12)

• Serves as a Child and Youth Services (CYS) Assistant Director of a Level 4 (very-large to mega size)CYS Program with responsibility of assisting the supervisor in the operation of an assigned CYS program with all applicable regulations and standards.
• Provides program oversight and accountability for the performance of assigned staff and the safety and well being of children and youth in accordance with Department of Defense, Army and local policies and standards.
• Supervises and evaluates employees based on established performance standards as required. Provides appropriate staff professional recognition and/or disciplinary action.
• Assists supervisor in developing program budget, and manages assigned program areas to budget. Conducts written analyses of budget variances and prepares justification for funding of program resource requirements.
• Works cooperatively with other CYS Managers to ensure seamless service and continuity of quality options for all children and youth. Serves as member of the CYS Program Plan Team to develop written strategies for program improvement.

Starting at $57,118 Per Year (NF 4)

• Exercise full supervisory responsibility of firefighting and law enforcement activities.
• Provide program oversight of Fire Protection and Prevention Service Support Programs (SSPs), i. e. managing and directing fire and emergency services programs; providing emergency dispatch services; etc.
• Plan, manage, direct and evaluate law enforcement operations.
• Represent the garrison for law enforcement and fire protection/prevention matters to the surrounding civilian communities.
• Plan and coordinate work to be accomplished by subordinate staff.
• Ensure quality performance of contracted services of security guards, emergency dispatchers, emergency medical treatment and ambulance services, as necessary.
