About the unit
4 North is a 33 bed Medical Trauma Ortho Burn unit located within Butterworth Hospital. This unit specializes in the care of those with Direct admits from ED with traumatic injuries or burns. Admits from surgery, could be admitted to unit or transfers out of the Surgical ICU. Will also take overflow patients for Med Surg working support for our Level One Trauma Program. Patients have been injured as a result of a traumatic event. 80% of 4 North’s trauma patients are the result on blunt trauma and 20% is penetrating trauma. Teamwork is an important value on this time and welcome new staff or guest staff warmly to ensure they have a great experience on the unit. We welcome new graduate and experienced RNs on 5North, and we are looking for employees who are passionate about this population and excited to grow their skills and gain experience over a long period of time.

6 Meijer Heart Center (6 Heart) is a 46-bed cardiac and vascular progressive/stepdown unit at the Meijer Heart Center. The primary patient population served include patients with various cardiac and vascular diseases requiring medical, procedural, or surgical interventions. Corewell Health is offering up to $10,000 as a sign on bonus for this opportunity!
We are excited to be offering a new Weekend Only Program for RNs!
Eligibility: RNs in inpatient nursing settings with 24/7 scheduling are included.
0.9 FTE would work two 12-hour shifts on the weekend and one additional shift during the week.
Compensation: RNs will receive an additional $10 per hour plus their base pay.
If the RN is a full-time (3) 12s a week RN, the stipend will apply to the two shifts on the weekend and not on the third weekday shift. This $10 per hour will be combined with shift differentials as well as other special codes.
Scheduling: RNs will be required to work 48 out of 52 weekends per calendar year. Weekends are defined as Friday and Saturday night for night shift. RNs can request up to 48 hours of PTO on their weekend shifts as well as 48 hours of exchanging a weekend shift for a weekday shift, for a total of 96 hours ‘off’ of the weekend requirement. This would be given in accordance with unit guidelines with allotted PTO as well as peak times, etc. RNs may request 1 holiday off per calendar year that falls on the weekend. The RN would only work the holiday if it fell on the weekend, they will not be moved off a weekend to work on a holiday.

The Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit is a high-acuity 36 bed cardiac surgical unit focused on fostering continuous learning while developing high level critical thinking and technical skills. Registered Nurses maintain significant competencies to operate at the top of the nursing license. Specialty device training includes the management of long term left ventricular assist devices, right and left sided Impellas, intra-aortic balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. The unit supports a culture of engagement and professional growth by encouraging participation in unit/organizational committees, councils, and other professional organizations. Teamwork, accountability, and collaboration are common practice expectations. Registered Nurses and Nurse Technicians work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapy, amongst several other disciplines to ensure individualized high-quality care. Continuous quality improvement initiatives provide a landscape for innovation and drive the implementation of evidence-based practices. Peer to peer relationships is developed by working side by side to provide an exceptional experience for our patients and their loved ones.

About this unit:
6 North is a 38 bed Cardiovascular unit that specializes in caring for adult patients with Heart Failure, cardiac dysrhythmias, newly implanted pacemakers and defibrillators, pulmonary hypertension and cardiac conditions requiring medical treatment. Most patients receive continuous telemetry monitoring. Care is provided 24 hours per day 7 days a week.
Individuals would want to work on this unit do to the large variety of cardiovascular and progressive care experiences that allow for a robust skill set. If they were to transfer to another unit, you would gain time management, proficiency in the management of patient with complex conditions. Some skills you can gain on this unit include, bipap, respiratory management, pulmonary hypertension treatments, management of multiple IV drips, heart failure management, telemetry monitoring. About the unit
5 Center is an 18 bed Oncology unit located at Butterworth Hospital. This unit specializes in the care of adult blood and marrow transplant patients. 5 Center is known for its employee’s outstanding teamwork and compassion. Patients on this unit often revisit for chemo treatments or may be readmitted for symptom management post chemo or post-transplant. Patients also often see long lengths of stays which can consist of 3-4 weeks at a time. This provides our team to get to know each patient and their family on a more personal level allowing them to provide personalized care. Due to the nature of these diagnoses’ physician relationships are a large focus and RNs and Techs will get to know the providers well.
While most of our team utilizes a traditional schedule, we also offer non-traditional scheduling options to assist with those that need full flexibility in their work schedule. About the unit
Adult Patients needing dialysis. Dialysis is performed on patients with Acute Kidney Injury. Patients who have or have had an acute illness requiring ICU care can need dialysis support while their kidneys recover from a critical illness. The acute intensive care conditions are most commonly: trauma with shock, cardiothoracic surgeries (including transplants), heart failure with fluid overload, liver failure, and sepsis or sepsis-like conditions (COVID). There are instances where dialysis partners with Pheresis to support patients needing both to stabilize their body from an autoimmune process. Hemodialysis is sometimes performed on patients who have taken drug overdoses. When it is determined that the drug can be removed with dialysis and doing so will help to stabilize the patient more quickly and help to preserve organ function (kidney and liver especially), dialysis is performed at the patient’s ICU bedside.

About this unit
7MHC is a 46-bed unit that cares for cardio-thoracic patients after surgery. We specialize in both cardiac, pulmonary and transplant care. Our primary patient populations are post-operative coronary artery bypass (CABG), cardiac valve surgeries, lung surgeries, heart, and lung transplant, and VAD patients (an artificial heart pump). We admit post-surgical patients’ day of surgery, after the cardiovascular recovery unit or from the Cardiothoracic ICU (CTCC) depending on their procedure and clinical needs. If a patient needs intensive care, they are transferred to CTCC and return to us when their condition has stabilized. Our patients are very complex and require medical, physical, and emotional support.
