About the Unit
6 and 8 Center at Butterworth Hospital are secure units with 20 private beds on each that specialize in Women and Infant Services, specifically postpartum care of Mother Baby couplets, after labor and delivery. The average length of postpartum patient stay here is 2-3 days. The excellent care provided by the 110 members of our Nursing and Support Team within Postpartum, provides team members and patients with memories that last a lifetime. We're here to guide parents through this transitional period, offering assistance, education, and support every step of the way. We even have Lactation Peer Counselors and Consultants available during your inpatient stay and a lactation warmline for continued assistance.

Scope of work
The Lactation Peer Counselor is a support role, (which is different from the Lactation Peer Consultant (RN) they work closely with).
Handles incoming and outgoing communications to breastfeeding mothers. Provides information, counsels, and supports breastfeeding mothers. Uses evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness of teaching. Responsible for maintaining records regarding educational programs and equipment rentals.
Provide information to prenatal women interested in breastfeeding, the benefits, reasons to breast feed, latching on, getting started in the hospital, supply and demand, preventing problems, growth spurts, and to discourage bottles and pacifiers in the hospital.
Provide information and support to postpartum mothers to encourage the continuance of successful breastfeeding and to respond to concerns or problems and/or on the expression and storage of breast milk, and pumping.
Accept and coordinate phones calls related to breastfeeding issues. Organize accurate records of all contacts and follow-up phone calls.
Teaches how breast pump works, handles question by telephone on how to work equipment, and follows up with mothers to see how they are functioning 24/48 hours after discharge. Refer breastfeeding problems to Lactation Consultants if immediate attention is required or if the problem is beyond his/her level of knowledge and/or skills.

The Betz Congenital Heart Center at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital (Corewell Health) is seeking a Pediatric/ Congenital Interventional cardiologist to join our busy and growing practice.
Our cardiologists are hired through Corewell Health Medical group, and have an academic appointment with Michigan State University School of Human Medicine. University rank, research time and leadership opportunities are based on qualifications and experience.
Program Highlights:

Scope of work
Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. The Corewell Health Butterworth OR department is a level 1 trauma center. The department consists of twenty-one (21) operating rooms that operate 24/7 including supporting other surgical services departments related to IMRI and pediatric areas. About the unit
7 South is a 22 bed Progressive Neuroscience unit located within Butterworth Hospital. This unit specializes in the care of stroke and adult epilepsy patients. As an accredited comprehensive stroke center, we have the ability to receive and treat the most complex stroke cases. Additionally, our epilepsy program performs a range of EEG monitoring from routine up to surgical implantation. Although this is a specialized unit, there is still a lot to learn due to the variety of conditions patients can have in addition to their stroke. Teamwork on this unit is known to be exceptional. Members of 7 South team assist each other in any way they can giving this unit a very welcoming and warm atmosphere. 7 South welcomes new graduates and experienced healthcare professionals alike and gives them the chance to continue to learn and grow their skills no matter their experience.
This is a Weekends Only role: 0.6 FTE would work two 12-hour shifts on the weekend. RNs will receive an additional $10 per hour plus their base pay.
The $10 per hour will only be applied to the weekend shifts the RN works. This $10 per hour will be combined with shift differentials as well as other special codes RNs will be required to work 48 out of 52 weekends per calendar year.
Weekends are defined as Saturday and Sunday for day shift. RNs can request up to 48 hours of PTO on their weekend shifts as well as 48 hours of exchanging a weekend shift for a weekday shift, for a total of 96 hours ‘off’ of the weekend requirement. This would be given in accordance with unit guidelines with allotted PTO as well as peak times, etc. RNs may request 1 holiday off per calendar year that falls on the weekend. The RN would only work the holiday if it fell on the weekend, they will not be moved off a weekend to work on a holiday.

About the unit
9 Center is a 24 bed Med/Surg unit at Butterworth Hospital that cares for the general medical and surgical patients. Employees are often drawn to 9-Center for the variety of patients and the team environment. Our employees become competent in caring for a large array of both surgical and medical patients. Specifically, our team is known as being experts in nasogastric tubes, urinary catheters and urologic care, managing enteral and parenteral feeding, and managing the care of wounds, ostomies, tubes and drains. Additional unique skills that those hired to 9-Center will learn include administration of peritoneal dialysis, utilization of Endotool for continuous insulin drip management, epidural administration of medications and the care of post-kidney donation patients.
This is a Weekend Only role. You would work two 12-hour shifts on the weekend. RNs will receive an additional $10 per hour plus their base pay.
