THE POST
Henley College IT is undergoing rapid development to ensure it can continue to support the College in its quest for educational excellence. Your role as IT Services technician will be to help support the team.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Support the IT Manager in the maintenance and management of the College ICT Network.
Support staff and students in the use of ICT equipment i.e. PCs, Tablets, AV, phones & printers.
Provide 1st line support for all PC, telephone, network, AV and peripheral related issues.
Diagnosis of OS/software/ hardware/cabling faults.
Monitoring of the College’s service desk and manage ongoing support tickets.
User account maintenance, i.e. password resets, user/mailbox administration, telephone extension assignment.
Maintaining asset inventories.
Liaising with suppliers/service providers and monitoring on-site contractors.
To assist in the introduction of new technology to support learning.
To monitor, maintain and repair ICT equipment including audio visual equipment.
To provide ICT support for visitors and events outside of the curriculum, i.e. examinations, guest lectures, auditors, inspectors.
Contributing to technical documentation and user reference material through the IT knowledge base.
Co-ordinating and participating in cross training as required.

Service Delivery

Service Delivery To be responsible for and carry out the following range of tasks unsupervised: To help set up and support ICT and AV Manager in the operation of ICT audio-visual equipment and systems. Support ICT and AV Manager with the installation, setup, test and maintenance of AV and ICT equipment including PCs and peripherals. Including the installation of software, hardware, and upgrades. Implement audio visual equipment and ICT systems policies as directed. Monitor any loan equipment ensuring equipment is returned on time and checked appropriately. Help monitor stock levels and provide maintenance and support of electronic equipment. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all ICT and audio-visual equipment requested by the customer/user is available as requested on the day. This may include working out of hours, early mornings, during the evenings and occasionally at weekends. Communication Responsible for the provision of expert advice on all ICT and audio-visual equipment. Ensuring that the customer/user is guided accordingly to use the ICT and audio-visual equipment. To provide basic training to customers/users to ensure that their events run smoothly. Responsibility for Human Resources Ensure compliance with Trust HR and other policies and procedures e.g. mandatory training attendance, Personal development, and appraisals, etc Data Management and Analysis Comply with Trust policies on the management of data and information Professional Development Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence. Grade 3 (£25,189 - £27,160 pro rata) + 10% shift allowance

Customer and Community Services are looking to recruit x1 Customer and Facilities Assistant. This is a public facing role which involves communicating with customers face to face, on the phone or by email.

The post holder will work as a member of a customer focussed team and will be responsible for delivering a range of tasks and services primarily in our Community Centres, Partnership Centres and Village Halls. These tasks include:

• handling general enquiries and administration of room lets
• setting up rooms and equipment in advance of use
• ensure buildings, rooms and spaces are clean and ready for occupation
• Supporting the volunteer led Management Committees to run programmes and events from our community centre spaces/buildings
• Collecting data and usage information from people using the facilities
• Ensuring the safe operation and running of community centre spaces and buildings, including:

carrying out designated building compliance checks/protocols, adhering to advice contained

within Risk Assessments, reporting health and safety concerns and ensuring that fire safety

procedures are carried out in accordance with council guidelines.

• Build and maintain relationships with community groups and Management Committee members
• Provide basic IT support or advice to customers (eg how to use a QR code, download an app)
• Reception duties (including handling payments, using a till, answering phonecalls)
• Open and locking buildings and setting/un-setting the alarm.

Requirements

You will be expected to take pride in the appearance of the buildings you work within ensuring they are clean, safe and welcoming to the public.

You will require basic level computer and IT skills as part of the role involves using email, outlook calendar, completing forms, inputting data to spreadsheets and accessing the internet.

We require someone with excellent communication and listening skills, who is friendly, diligent, pays attention to detail and is solutions focused.

You will work with minimum supervision so you should be self-motivated and reliable and have the ability to prioritise tasks and forward plan.

You will be required to demonstrate that you can work within a busy and changing environment, remain calm under pressure and that you can respond to the needs of customers and colleagues in a helpful and proactive way.

You should have a willingness to develop your skills and knowledge to ensure our service evolves to meet the needs of our customers and partners.

Most of all, you should enjoy working with people and with the public.

Once fully trained and briefed, you will be required to work alone.

There is an element of manual handling in this role (eg moving furniture and equipment and setting up community centre spaces/rooms for use by the public).

You will be required to travel independently between buildings.

This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) and you will be asked to work up to 5 days over 7 and anytime between 8am and 10pm (for which you will be paid a 10% shift allowance).
