As a Senior Nurse in our integrated mental health team you will be responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients mental health needs. You will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan. You will contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to; Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries. You will play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding. To liaise with in-patient and community based services to ensure smooth transfer of care through the services. To provide OT specific interventions to meet the needs of clients using individual or group formats, utilising clinical reasoning processes to determine the most appropriate method of treatment. To make clinically informed decisions in order to delegate aspects of client care to assistants, junior staff, students, carers and statutory or non-statutory bodies. To regularly review clients progress in order to evaluate and interpret effectiveness of treatment plans, and amend treatment or discharge clients accordingly. To develop and initiate interventions based on the integration of theoretical knowledge in order to meet unique client needs. JOB SUMMARY: The post holder will work as a Snr Occupational Therapist in Rehabilitation Inpatient /Community services as required Key Tasks To provide the Rehabilitation Service with an occupational therapy service and expertise; this will include individual and group work, assessment, intervention and evaluation in accordance with the College of Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics. Specific to assessment the Occupational Therapist (OT) will utilise MOHO evidence based assessment tools in order to establish a baseline functional assessment from which recommendations can determine further on going care and treatment to enable optimum functioning. To establish links with other OTs in interfacing rehabilitation and community mental health teams to enable effective continuation of Occupational Therapy input if required. To integrate evidence based practice and skilful use of assessments & interventions with personal recovery principles in order to improve the service users quality of life and to support them to do the things they want to do and live the life they want to lead. To apply a high level of understanding of the effects of mental illness and physical conditions; providing training and advice on lifestyle changes and adaptations to the service users social and physical environment. This will include undertaking assessments and making recommendations with regards to the provision of equipment/aids and adaptations. To contribute to service development of Local & Trust wide OT services. To provide leadership for junior / unqualified staff through supervision and appraisal as required. To act as fieldwork educator to students on practice placement.

Act as a Staff Support Psychologist, forming strong working relationships with divisions, departments and line managers across the Trust who are struggling with work related stress or distress. There will be a particular focus on supporting staff groups that have had a key role in managing high levels of ongoing operational pressure leading to an inevitable emotional impact of the work. - Provide specialised psychological advice and consultation to multidisciplinary teams, staff groups, leaders and managers on topics related to psychological wellbeing, including on matters which have been caused, exacerbated or influenced by the Covid-19 pandemic and associated legacies. - Formulate and deliver direct clinical intervention through the application of a range of evidenced based psychological theories and models in individual and group work, to help analyse, understand and interpret complex situations and behaviours. - Clinical interventions may be delivered in person or online and take the form of i) decompression groups for staff teams following an internal incident or period of prolonged stress ii) providing psychoeducation and skills-based training on identified areas of emotional difficulty, iii) providing 1:1 psychological support for employees struggling with work-related stress or distress or iiii) co-facilitating online workshops. workshops - The post holder will need to apply knowledge of the current evidence-based clinical interventions in clinical/counselling psychology and mental health, when working in this setting. - The Staff Psychology Service is underpinned by a compassion focused therapy (CFT) framework.
